Super nice shop, which I'm assuming by the name that they operate in the Italian espresso tradition. No wifi which I kind of... like for a change. And they were SO nice behind the counter! I totally spilled my espresso on their nice floor and wall and theycleaned it and gave me a fresh one. That is service! Read more

I asked for a latte and I received some kind of hot milk so I barely tasted the coffee. My daughter order hot chocolate and that... was pretty good. Lemon cookies were good too. Recommendation: double shot in your latte! Read more

This place is a true embodiment of a "piazza" as my Italian fiancé would say, or a communal space where everyone can come... together for their shared addiction; caffeine. The staff is homely, personable, and I feel like I'm going to a family membersplace for a coffee, and the fact that I can run into friends and family there as well really enhances the vibe of mercanti. Isometimes find the coffee a hair bitter, and slightly acidic for my taste, but that's just my taste, however overall, this placeis a staple in NDG. Read more
