Vegan Thai? That’s what I thought, wondering what’s the hype. But now I’m like, OMG Vegan Thai ! Vegan chicken? Vegan... duck? Vegan Beef? I always used to run away from the word vegan. ChuChai you guys know how to make a vegan dish taste amazing. Iwould definitely try vegan food again especially if it’s from ChuChai. Every dish we ordered was made to perfection. It notonly tasted delicious but the vegan fish tasted and looked just like FISH. We started with some appetizers: Kiao Satay, HetWaan Krob and Gai Satay. My favourite was the Het Waan Krob. You guys made a simple mushroom into a delicious appetizer. It wasyummy. For our mains we got Tom Yum soup, Pad Keemao, Kao Pad Pak (Fried rice), Kang Daeng Gai, Khiao Wan Koung with Shrimp. Idon’t know which one was better or which one best. I loved every dish. The combination of fried rice with red curry, alongwith veggies was just delicious. Even my family members who don’t like veggies were gobbling it down. Even one of my familymembers said: “they will change to vegan if ChuChai opens in Toronto.” Now that’s a big deal for a carnivore tosay. Anyone in Montreal should definitely try this place and make sure to reserve in advance since they are usually verybusy. To end our night we got Fried Banana with maple syrup and mango with rice. It was a weird combination, mango and rice, but you know what? It was sooo delicious! Yes rice with mango was delicious. It’s fried rice with condensed milk and slices ofmango. Definitely unique and great food. Shoutout to Anna who was our server (owner of the restaurant). It’s hard to find agood server who is a great business owner too. Read more

Breathe of fresh air! My family and I were visiting from New Jersey and had trouble finding delicious food at a fair price... during our stay. We happened to make a reservation at Chu Chai for our last night in Canada and all the food was very delicious! As spice lovers, we highly recommend the spice fried rice. The pad thai was also so delicious we ordered it twice alone with thespicy coconut milk tofu. All the food was seasoned well and priced fair for it's location. Highly recommend if you're lookingfor food that won't disappoint! Read more

Fantastic options for vegans! Each dish was packed with unique flavor and the "meats" had such a similar texture to the real... thing. With so many options and a very attentive staff, this is easily one of the best restaurant options in Montreal!! I veryhighly recommend this place to all visiting and residing in the city. You cannot go wrong with any item you order. Read more

Delicious and creative food, efficient service, clean and pleasant place. We loved every dish we had - crispy duck, appetizer,... chicken with ginger and tapioca pudding. My only regret is that we didn’t discover this place 15 years earlier:) Thank you! Read more

Words can’t express how tasty the food is at Chu Chai. My favourite was definitely the Crispy Vegan Duck (a must-have).... Something about the texture of the dish made it incredible. Anything on the menu would be a great choice, it’s quite hard topick just one. I went on a double date so it was nice to try each other’s options. Food is definitely A1. As for price, it’snot your inexpensive but it ranges really faire for the quality that one can get. It’s perfect place for a dinner date orcasual dinner with friends. Drinks were good. I’m pregnant so I didn’t have an alcoholic beverage but from what I gatheredfrom my mates, their drinks were delicious especially the Sangria. Highly recommend this place. Whether vegan or not (ourfriends who dine with us were not), anyone can appreciate the food! Read more
