If you have the choice, definitely stay at Hotel Gault! Such an amazing location and beautiful hotel. The staff went above and... beyond helping us find new areas to explore, assisting with our luggage, and even allowing us to eat takeout dinner in the bararea with our dog. This hotel is simply fabulous. Modern rooms in a classic building. We were upgraded to a balcony suite - knocked my socks off.... But, perhaps most importantly, the staff was exceptional - always there to greet us with a smile and a delightful "bonjour!"Gaëlle was particularly joyous. Her smile made it hard for us to leave. Parking is far from hotel and difficult to access. Staff wasn't trained for check out duty. We had to wait 20mins so the staff... could call her supervisor for step by step instruction on how to check out a guest. Expect a knock and an uninvited entranceat random hours from staff offering dessert. The hotel lounge was eerily quiet considering we were in the touristy area of OldMontreal. Breakfast is extra unless one buys a package but "chef was sick" so only continental breakfast available. We weregiven 2 VIP drink tickets that came with our pckage but bartender only had a cheap house wine or beer available on the Saturdayof a long weekend. The best part is the bargain price of 400 plus per night for all of the above amenities and service. Iwouldn't stay here again. If I hadn't been to comparable hotels in the area perhaps my expectations would have been less. Read more

Perfect stay from beginning to end. Prompt communication from staff and wonderful rooms. We had a king suite and it was beyond... comfortable. The bed was heavenly and the opening French doors that looked out on the street below were so charming. It was awonderful stay. Right in the middle of the action yet so quiet at night. Read more
We booked the deluxe suite I was pleasantly surprised by the room. The bed was very comfortable. The view from the window was... very good. The room was also playing comfortable music.
