My wife and I booked dinner here on a Friday night....and what an Experience!! The front staff at the start seemed too lack... personality which got me worried to see what we signed up for but once we went upstairs and met our waitress Sofia it was one ofthe best experiences ever! The experience itself was memorable but the food was not exceptional. We got the 3 courses meal with surprises for each course,... mine were all vegetarian. The appetizer was a good salad but the main dish was way too oily and smoky, I couldn?t finish myplate it was too overwhelming. On that night, it happened to be wild rice with broccoli and vegan sausages. My surprise drinkwas sweet but I wasn?t sure it there was actually any alcohol in it. Didn?t taste like it at all. All three stars are for the experience itself. Staff was lovely, dining in complete darkness was unlike anything else. But the... food was not exceptional by any means. The ?ginger madness? gin cocktail tasted neither of ginger or gin. The appetizers werepretty good, though the tuna tataki plate had a portion of completely undressed noodles on it. That part was not pleasant. Mainswere tasty, but unexceptional. ?Molten? chocolate cake was cooked thru and not even slightly molten. And the wine we orderedupon arrival didn?t come until dessert. All said, understand that you?re there for the experience, not for fine dining. The waitstaff?s ability to navigate serving is just amazing! Great concept, excellent food. Waiter Dominic was excellent. Everyone at the table really enjoyed eating in the pitch black... dining room. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars was that there were some serious problems with their air conditioningsystem, and for most of the meal, there was a loud, jackhammer-like sound from the cooling fan, really close to our table (EDIT:A/C is fixed, so changing to 5-star). Really took away from the sensory experience. It also got progressively hotter in theroom, and we were all sweating a ton by the end. It was 30C outside too. So bottom line: definitely try it! Just call ahead andask if the AC problem is fixed. No pictures, because you can't see an inch in front of your face in the dining room ????. Read more
Go with your significant other. I'm really into food, got all surprises! Lots of fun! I saw deer ribs on the menu, but wanted a... surprise. Get the surprise, but not if the menu has something like deer ribs. I ended up with pretty good beef, only regret isnot getting that exotic deer! Read more
What an awesome experience this was! There's nothing like it anywhere in the World! The entire service is in the dark, and you... really can't see anything! Every server working here is legally blind, and it's so impressive. Our server Fe was such an allstar all night. His story is so gut wrenching, but regardless, he was spirited, outgoing, and professional. The food was reallygood, and I highly recommend doing the "surprise" menu. If you're looking to venture out and try something unique, then this isthe place for you! The food, the atmosphere, and the outstanding customer service was just incredible!
