Haven’t enjoyed an experience along with excellent food like this in quite a while. Besides the delicious Haitian and... Caribbean style fusion menu, the small cozy vibe and the friendliness of the staff and the owner is something you don’t see alot of anymore. It felt very home-y and they patiently explained some of the menu items and seemed delighted to do theexplaining, rather than annoyed. Try the griot poutine or sandwich and the fried shrimp starters, get some extra aioli sauceand make sure to try out one of the classic drinks that are typical of Haiti and the Caribbean. We will surely be back shortly! Read more

First time at a Caribbean restaurant. So not sure what to expect. We had wings which were good. Then had the special meal for 2... which included paties, rice and chicken pieces. Paties were really good. The chicken was actually not really great as thechicken was burnt but I guess that maybe a thing since most others chicken was of similar way. Desert n Drinks were ok too.Fries were extremely oily. . Overall bill of 75$. I’d certainly call it expensive Read more

I had never tried Caribbean food before, and it was excellent. I preferred the shrimp combo more than the chicken one. The... shrimp are much meatier and chunkier than what is typically served in restaurants. The addition of the rice (cooked in chickenbroth) was an excellent addition. Other than that, plantains are tasty. The macaroni salad and plantains can be switched. If youwant to try something new, here is the place to go. Read more

So if you’re in the south west, love carribean food and are very hungry. This is the spot for you. Portions are generous and... you can tell all the food has been prepared with love and lots of attention to detail. Highly recommend the shrimp, the guac, the plantain and the griot. (Hot tip: ask for extra sauce - heightens the entire experience). OMG AND THE LEMONADE! Theyexplained that the hibiscus syrup is made in house from scratch! TO DIE FOR! kk I’m done! ???? Read more

I had the griyo combo plate with the rice and salad sides. Food was packaged nicely with respective sauces and carried well to... Atwater Market where I opened my meal like a kid on Christmas morning. The griyo was nicely flavored and they didn’t skimp onquantity. Some of the pieces were on the dry side, but that’s my experience with griyo. The rice was tasty and the salad ofthe day was an arugula salad and it went great with its vinaigrette dressing. Wait was about 10-15 minutes which is a little onthe long side for me but totally understood after seeing the packaging and tasting. Service was friendly and welcoming. Read more

I had a wonderful evening in this restaurant yesterday with my two friends. I first came across this restaurant through... poutineweek and was finally able to come here after saving it on my list of restaurants to try. The menu is easy to understand, and the food is great : we all liked our dishes. The riz colé lacked a bit of flavor, but the griot was good. The manager(girl) with green hair saw that we were struggling with choosing our dishes and didn’t hesitate to recommend her favorites tous : she was very outspoken, friendly and cool. Will definitely come back if I’m ever in the area again. Read more

Great experience overall, food and portions were great, with the right amount of seasoning. The owner Akim was really nice and... attentive, which explains how he was able to obtain the title of the employee of the month at the legendary McDowell'srestaurant. Will definitely drop by again the next time I am in that part of town. Read more
