We stopped by on our way home from the wrestling, hungry we needed food and needed it fast. We looked and looked but couldn't... find anything on Monkland open ( to be fair We didn't really look that hard ) we saw this beacon of light. First time there - got take out... and last time there. We're trying different local restaurants because.. well, you know...... support local business if you can. I guess sometimes you gotta take the hit when experimenting with different places. We got alarge all dressed and it was pretty tasteless throughout the slices we tried - for $27.59 with tax - for something that shouldmaybe have cost $12 max (if it's 3am and you've been drinking) since the quality and taste were just not there. Even thepepperoni was mostly just thrown near the middle and clumped together and not really cooked through. We're going to try tosalvage it by spreading out the pepperoni, adding some banana peppers and oregano and the throwing it in the oven under broilfor a few mins. Our hopes are not high. Waste of time and money. Update: Over time, we cringed our way through half of thepizza and it's not salvageable - threw the rest out. Thanks for taking my money. Ugh. Read more
I usually order pizza...and lately their pizzas are as good as frozen pizzas you get for $5.00 or less. Today, I decided to try... the shawarma/shish-taouk mixed combo. The rice and the potatoes were almost flavourless...and the beef and chicken....I thinkPinoli should change the dish name to Jerky Shawarma-Shish Taouk Mixed combo. Seriously, the meat was so dry that I think it'sprobably days old and was reheated in the pizza oven they have...which, by the way, looks like it hasn't been cleaned incenturies. I have to admit, though, that the two cans of Coke I ordered were cold and tasted very good!!! Pinoli...you havejust lost a customer. Ordered two plates for me and a family member. The beef and chicken shawarma. Came with rice, potato, and salad. $40 in total.... Not much in it was edible. The rice was probably from the day before (if not more) and too dry to eat. The meat was dry too. Thesalad felt like it was cut by a 4 year old. Just giant pieces of cabbage including the root. And another salad with randomthings. No dressing. No taste. Hummus felt like it was just mashed chickpeas. It was a really frustrating experience and Iregretted getting food from there. I don't care whether it was a bad day or not but no customer deserves to pay $40 for suchpoorly made food. It's a form of insult. This review comes from someone who eats anything and everything. This was a rare momentfor me when I didn't finish my plate. p.s. the two stars are because I was able to enjoy my potatoes with mayo p.p.s. thepeople raving about the pizza, have they ever had an actual/real pizza in their life?? I love Pizza Pinoli so much! I used to live right around the corner and it was so easy to grab a slice of pizza whenever I had a... pizza craving. I highly recommend the Verdi, Sorrento, and of course, the Pinoli gourmet pizzas! The folks that work there areextremely kind as well. Read more
