Expensive for what it is. We had an entree, main course and dessert. The truffle in the entree tasted bland. Main course meat... (beef cheek) was great but sides were underwhelming. Dessert was good. However, price was very high which is why I rated itlower. Read more

It was soooo expensive to have a table d?hôte brunch and a cocktail here on one Sunday. Considering the price, I think the food... was very normal and overpriced. Read more

Dined on the terrace at Renoir during our first day in Montreal. If the quality of the food were the only element of the dining... experience, then Renoir would be competitive with other fine dining restaurants. Unfortunately, there were a couple significantfailure points that made our choice regrettable. The first was poor service. Although they did not appear busy, it took a whilefor our waiter to arrive (to the point where I asked my tablemates if we should leave). When we were finally acknowledged, ourwaiter was rather curt (as if we were at a casual dining establishment where the goal is to move customers). Possibly noticingwe were not receiving adequate service, a waitress did come over to help out. While she was more skilled and knowledgeable, theservice between the two was inconsistent (e.g., one told us different specials than the other resulting in us receivingsomething different than we thought, there was confusion about who was taking our order, etc.). The second failure point arrivedwith our tab ? I was shocked to see a $39 price for a basic gin martini. Maybe gin is incredibly expensive in Canada? Would loveto know what others are charged? With the pandemic and the labor market, we understand that service can be inconsistent or notmeet expectations. But, rather than talking about the quality of the food, the thing I cannot stop telling people about was the$39 martini. On the positive side, Renoir gave me a great story to tell, so I guess it was a memorable dining experience! Read more

The place's ambience is nice and the service is friendly. We orderes the waffle and the benedict (salmon). They charged us an... extra 58 dollars to our room by accident and it took a bit of time to get that reversed so thag was annoying. Additionally, theydidn't come to talk to us while we stood in front for about 5 minutes, so that was annoying. When they did talk to us, we got usseats near the front, and I had to speak to the concierge for about 2 minutes and they said "okay that will be fine sir!"politely. When I came back after the 2 minutes, they had given my seat to someone else, so that was also annoying. Read more

The ambiance is very nice and the waiter was very professional, warm and cheery. The wine selection is very good and there are a... lot of choices. The food was amazing. Everything was cooked to the perfection. The balance between the ingredients worked verywell and it was a joy to eat all the courses. They treated the ingredients with respect and could taste the freshness inthem. The portions are generous too. You'll be very full after a three course meal. Overall, I really enjoyed and stronglyrecommend it. We will definitely be back for more. Read more

Comfortable chairs, not bad ambience but maybe turn the lights down. Just wish there wasn't a t.v. so close to the dining area.... When I am paying $$$ for dinner, I don't wish for hockey fans cheering. Not bad wine list by the glass, very pleased to seeVeuve Cliquot on there. N.B. oysters were good and the accompanying mignonette was very good. Duck pate was magnificent.Perfectly translucent scallops in corn soup with a bit of acid from the Tiny Tom tomatoes was divine. Dress code says "smartcasual" but evidently, sweat pants and hoodies now fall into that category too. Great service from Michael (who put a lot iflovin' in my perfect bourbon sour) et al. Read more

A hotel restaurant that is located right next to McGill College under the hotel Sofient. The hotel and the restaurant have their... own vaccination check system based on the key card, so as I was checked of my vaccination proof while checking into Hotel; therestaurant does not need to repeat the process with the presentation of the keycard. The restaurant employees are very friendlyand taken me to my seat right away with several options for me to choose. it was not busy and then the wait staff approachesasking about drinks and snack after introduction. He provided nice recommendation on the beverage and food; I had a really goodtime there as my first night in Montreal Read more
