It?s the old school mikado with a new name. The sushi was perfect, and the staff did their best with our rowdy group. I had... the usual favourites: aloha, ndg, relax, salmon maki and tuna maki. All were as good as you can hope for. The service was alittle slow and they didn?t bring the beers until we asked a second or maybe third time , so 4 stars. Read more

We feel SO SICK...the worst sushi we ever had... All sushi restaurants closed on Valentine's Day (Monday) so we opted to try... this place out and it is absolutely HORRIBLE. It's a scam, charged us $80 for inedible salmon and the cheapest portions, see howsmall the avocado maki is in the photo. I want to VOMIT. Never again. Read more
Formerly known as Mikado but under the same management and new name :"Kiku" this (still) family owned restaurant provides... unchanged, stunningly presented meals made with great care and attention to detail. Generous portions of fresh ingredients, verysavoury, creative sauces and a homemade ice cream that rivals most parlours make this beautiful flower an essential destinationfor sushi lovers. Read more

Montreal, tried tons good ones when I lived in NYC, so I know what I'm talking about! Maybe the presentation and the environmentmakes it good enough for ppl who haven't tried the real good ones, but not for me. The fish is not that fresh, not enoughselection for sake at all, the appetizer recipe is just not good. One of the appetizer I could barely eat it. The ingredientsare so blend--boiled wakame, seasoned sliced cucumber that's not seasoned long enough, and the octopus in it is too huge tochew. Like all good Japanese sushi chefs know not to cut octopus into such big chunks! And OMG the sushi, are you kidding me!The sushis are not hold together by the chefs skills, but how sticky the rice is. It's simply not the correct texture for goodsushi rice! The tempura is premade so it's cold, and the crust is soft and not crunchy. This is like all you can eat sushiquality selling at premium price. None of the dishes I ordered met my expectation for this price range. I feel bad for all theppl whos regular returning customers here. With the same budget, please go somewhere else. To be fair, their waiters arefriendly and nice. And their uni is cheap if you just want lots of uni, and the uni itself is not bad. ($9 for 2. Amazing sushi. When they were allowed to have indoor dining it was incredibly well done with plexiglass dividers between each... table. The quality of food here is awesome I recommend you ask about the hidden menu items such as the NDG roll and the Ashleyroll! Don?t miss the desert of ice cream on a paint palette with chocolate sauce. The management is incredibly kind andfriendly and everyone we?ve ever interacted with there is knowledgeable and courteous.
