The entrance to the restaurant has you walking past the kitchen where you are greeted by all the staff. After a very warm... welcome you are given the drink menu with a lovely selection of cocktails and wines, they also do a wine pairing. The tastingmenu is exquisite. Each dish highlights fresh local produce in a unique and welcoming way. The spices, sauces, plating are allexpertly crafted and well thought out. They give you lots of time to enjoy each dish, allowing you to really savour theexperience. Pastel is a unique tasting menu experience in all the best ways. I had a good experience here. They called a few days before our dinner to check if we had any allergies. Arrival was special, we... walked through the kitchen and we were greeted by the chefs. I loved that! Our server was amazing! The tasting menu we had thisparticular night was pretty good a good blend of flavors but nothing over the top(my fav was the dessert that I didn't take apicture). This restaurant is amazing. The food is very good and tasty. We really liked the differents textures in the meal and the... diversity of the 7 services. The service was also very good. The only negative point is that it took 3h30 to serve every meals.I would recommend you to either have a lot of time or ask your waiter to speed up the service between each meals. Read more

Pastel is a restaurant truly worthy of all it's fanfare and accolades. They are consistently found on lists of Canada's top... restaurants and so, it was a no brainer for us to choose Pastel as the restaurant where we wanted to celebrate our mini-moon(mini honeymoon). We went with the Vert tasting menu which normally consists of 5 courses, however, the staff knowing it wasour mini-moon, kept surprising us with little treats and surprises. Our server was friendly and attentive, the kitchen staffwere all lovely and some of the chefs even came to our table to check in on us. The service was on par if not better than someof the Michelin Star and World's Best restaurants we've been to. The food was spectacular. It was inventive, creative andrefreshing. Each plate was made with careful precision and the quality of the ingredients shone throughout. I have alreadyrecommended Pastel to many friends and family and will no doubt return to eat again when back in Montreal. Overall,enthusiastically recommend. Read more

Dishes are very avantgarde, and were fine. My favorite was the dessert with the celery liquor. My least favorite was the Bao... buns, as I found them dry. I don't particularly think the wine pairings added anything special to the dishes, however, theservice is pretty fantastic. The servers were very knowledgeable and friendly. Read more
