So Today I was placing an order for my mother in laws birthday on uber eats as her party is tonight so I wanted to place a... scheduled delivery for tonight so I wouldn't have to rush to pick it up after work. While placing the order I notice that thefull menu isn't posted so I call and see if it is possible to get the rolls not listed. After double checking she says that'sfine but why don't you come just pick it up. I said I will be rushing so its easier to order on uber eats. After telling her myorder I told her I would schedule it on uber eats and call in advance to make sure they add the substituted rolls. She said okgreat speak to you later. As I was placing the order for a scheduled delivery for 6 pm my cart disappears and I realize aftertelling her I'm ordering 2 of the buy one get one free she took it off the uber app and now my whole order disappeared. I callback and say hey I was just placing the order we spoke on the phone about for 20 mins what happened why did my cart disappear.Her answer is that her boss called and told her to take it off. What a coincidence a minute after I just told you my order theboss calls and says take that off yet every other sushi Sama has the deal. Anyways long story short Sushi Sama Monkland. Youjust lost a 250$ order But You Also lost a customer who has been coming to your location since opening. The simple reason is whywould you be so sneaky why wouldn't you tell me on the phone instead of wasting my time. Like we ordered that roll because welike that roll and now because you don't want to honor a deal you remove that roll completely. Even if there was no deal wewould've ordered that roll. Super fresh. The best Sushi Sama I have tried. Just don't order the specials (platters) through ubereats because the staff... weren't very happy about it. I highly suggest the Sashimi or Nigiri platters! I wish they had better opening hours. Read more
We chose Sushi Sama over our usual restaurant because they have a much better variety of choices for vegetarians (both more... items and more interesting ones). Our sushi arrived promptly at the requested time, and was absolutely beautiful - it's rare toget veggie options where as much care is put into the presentation as some of the more elaborate fish/seafood rolls. Each rollwas delicious and packed with ingredients, with just enough rice to hold it together. The "Snowflake" with sundried tomato,cream cheese & avocado roll was particularly flavourful, but it would be hard to pick a favourite! The edamame maki, tempura yamand the futomaki specials were incredible, but so were the basics (e.g. avocado and oshinko hosomaki, and tamago nigiri). Willdefinitely be ordering again, and next time we're going to try the Bento box. Read more
