Hearth and Tap is our regular list of restaurants for family dinner night out. We're a family of 5 and there is always something... for everyone. We don't usually have a reservation but they seat us with no problem. Kids menu is good. Service is great. Read more
I’ve traveled around the nation to cigar bars and this place truly blew me away. All walks of life simply enjoying a good meal... and cigar. There’s no egos here. Just a friendly place. The food was outstanding and our waiter chris was outstanding. If yourfrom the New Jersey or New York area i highly recommend this place. Service was great as well. The environment is pleasant enough. No loud music blasting away, which is appreciated. Cigar smoke smell definitely noticable... when you walk in. Not so much at the back. Food was good, not exceptional. We had sprouts, garlic and parmesan wings, spicedmignon, onion wings, then flatbreads, chicken pot pie and a burger. Friends mentioned the flatbreads were undercooked - bottomswere not crispy - the fire oven was probably not hot enough. Pot pie was good - very rich (almost too much so), tender chickenand vegs. Nice crust, but could have been a bit more flakey throughout - it was a bit doughy and chewy under the flakey top.Could have done with a little more seasoning. Burger was good, but dry aged beef lacks the "juiciness" of regular ground beef.Fine, if that's your thing. Service was adequate, if a bit slow. Very overpriced. After tax and tip, you're looking at $30+ fora main dish, $20 per appetizer and cocktail drinks $20. Inflation, I guess, but just didn't seem like value to me. Worst partis, they tack on a credit card "surcharge". Really? Come on, just because everyone else is doing it, doesn't make it acceptable,and it left a sour taste in my mouth. For this reason alone, I will never go back. Surely you could make up the $ elsewhere?It's not inexpensive to begin with, this just seems like you're squeezing every last drop out of your patrons. So in summary:Decent (if overpriced) food and drinks, acceptable service, stupid surcharge. Read more
Really enjoyed dinner at Hearth and Tap with friends. Everyone enjoyed their food and service was good. The only thing we all... disliked was the s'mores cookie. The lava cake was good but the cookie was off...but none of us could figure out why or how. Read more
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience. Excellent atmosphere. While it took a bit long for the food to come out,... it was super busy. The server and staff were friendly and checked on us often keeping water full and beers flowing. My wife hadthe corned beef sandwich and I had a bacon cheeseburger, both of which were cooked perfectly, came out hot and juicy. Bothdishes came with fries that I would consider top 3 of all time!!! Good bar/ restaurant in Montvale. They have a good outdoor seating area. They have space heaters around to make you comfortable... during cold. Pizza was good along with wines. Good place for office/ friends gatherings. Read more
I just want to personally thank Kelly for her outstanding service and kindness today . I had a terrible day my car broke down in... New York while taking my toddler to a birthday party. After 4 hours of getting it fixed I had to pick up food for my husbandswork friends. It wasn’t ready yet( I came a bit early) Kelly offered me a glass of wine while I waited. She was super sweetand the restaurant and atmosphere was so beautiful. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. Her sweet gesture made mystressful day better. My family and I will come back soon for another dinner! I highly recommend this restaurant for the amazingfood and the kindness of the staff. Read more
