I don't normally do reviews, but I had to let people know what a wonderful spot this is! My charcoal grilled steak was cooked... to perfection and literally melted in my mouth. The wine selection is outstanding. Our server was big city professional andsmall town warm all at once. SoundSide manages to create the perfect blend of an elegant dining experience with cozy familyatmosphere. Go there! You won't regret it! Read more
Exceptional food. Best steak I have had in the State of North Carolina. Fresh, clean, tasty, delicious. Katie, our server was... super attentive, friendly, and AWESOME. The hostess was very thoughtful, and let us know that there was a large party ahead ofus, and our order might take a little longer than expected. This turned out to be not true at all, food was perfectly timed! Allthe staff had a good vibe, knowledgeable, and represented the Chef Chris with pride. I went into this restaurant I thought they were open. The floors were spotless I could literally eat off of the floor. Very... clean restaurant. The tables and chairs were quality for anyone wanting to sit and dine in at this five star restaurant that Ihave rated it. I saw a check on the counter and did not see any employees so I left when I saw it. Nice establishment SoundsideRestaurant. I will come back to place an order another time. Read more
Sound Side is back!! First return visit since transfer of ownership. Great work! Atmosphere retained its simple clean yet... refined environment. Wait Staff was very attentive; not quite as polished as prior staff—but great job. Menu was a bit beef/pork heavy… seemed there were minimal seafood entree offerings. However…. and most importantly the food was GREAT! Steak was best in class all around—- including a trip last week to Montana. Crusted without over spice; tender to cut withfork. Steak and twice baked stuffed potato was hot and obviously brought to the table quickly. Salad was delicious andhomemade dressings were first rate. Peach cobbler for dessert was spot on! The comparison to the prior Sound Side may seemunfair or insensitive…. However; same name same location warrants comparison—- so happy to share that this new front of thehouse manager is doing excellent work along with Chef and kitchen staff. We reclaim our birthday, anniversary and specialoccasion celebration spot! Look forward to returning again soon! Keep up the great work!! First time trying it this week. The restaurant was inviting as well as the staff. The dinner menu is not as extensive as the... drink menu. The prices were very high, you pay extra for sides with your expensive entree and $3.00 for bread! $49 for a 12oz.Ribeye steak so we just knew for that price, it was going to be fantastic. Sadly, we’ve had better steak at Longhorn for 1/2the price an they even give you bread! It’s a no for a return for us. Read more
First off, meal tasted fine, no complaints over taste. Tried here only because I seen lamb was served but sadly it wasn’t on... the menu for the time I ate here. Very limited choices on the menu and no kids menu received for my 10 year old daughter? Wasshocked that a $49-$59 steak meal only comes with 1 side. Extra side prices vary for what you want. If you want a salad,that’s another $7-$10 dollars AND they charge extra if you want bread! Sorry but Outback’s also has great tasting steaks,can get two sides (salad IS an optional side) and endless bread at no additional cost for $30 and that’s an 18oz steak meal.Family of 5, we spent $380 some dollars…ridiculous that this place can’t even serve free bread, can you say cheapskate?Sorry but the small things really do matter to me & my family. This restaurant was nothing spectacular compared to otherrestaurants, service was even slow. If you want fine dining, try JK’s at Kill Devil Hills, they give 2 sides and breadincluded for their $40-$50 steak meals. I’ll be passing over soundside restaurant with no regrets from now on. I have loved this place for guite some time. Went tonight to take my mom for her birthday. The food was just as perfect as when... Laueren owned it. Chris the chef, is phenomenal and his French onion soup is one of the best I have ever had. The staff isamazing, Katy the bartender is wonderfully knowledgeable about the food and wine.
