So the ice cream is ok BUT they give you a mini cup that has 2 scoops. See the photo And the mess my 5 year old now has. Her... hands are sticky. It is in her hair. Plus there is no where to actually sit and eat the ice cream so I have no where to throwaway the 25 napkins that I have had to use to try and help her. My 8 year has it in her hair too and I couldn?t eat mine cause Iwas too busy helping the kids. Not a fan of this place because of the stupid bowl sizes and I wish people would stop getting megift cards here because I don?t want to come back. If the owner reads this please! Just give us a normal scoop in a normal bowl!Ice cream doesn?t have to be anything other than ice cream in a bowl that you can sit and enjoy on a hot summer day. Thank you. Read more
Great little spot with good ice cream. We had the next from smallest size and it was very large for the price. The chocolate... fantasy was just that with A LOT of good quality chocolate pieces. Read more
My first time trying Sweet Retreat. I was not prepared for their extra-large portions of ice cream they serve. Flavors are good.

Ice cream is great but unfortunately I?ve heard reports directly from current and past employees that they are regularly... verbally abused by the owner, Anjan. He consistently berates them (typically younger, teenage workers, some minors) for smallmistakes and things that aren?t in their control such as cash register issues or machines malfunctioning. Pre-pandemic his wholestaff walked out on him because of his behavior. The stories I?ve heard show that he does not value his employees at all andviews them as lesser simply because he is in the place of an employer. Some of the things he has done could probably be taken tocourt as assault especially when dealing with young people. No ice cream is worth what this owner puts his staff through.Disgusting. Read more
Ice cream started melting immediately and had ice crystals in it. I had ice cream dripping all over the ground right when I... stepped outside the shop, and had to run back in to ask them for an extra bowl to catch all the drippings. What a waste! Very good ice cream; but, I ordered a Banana Split with the classic three toppings and nuts. What I got for toppings was... chocolate syrup and sprinkles trimmed with chopped almonds. Being from Latrobe, PA where the Banana Split was invented, theclassic toppings everywhere are chocolate syrup, crushed pineapple, and strawberries trimmed with chopped peanuts. My mistake. Also, outdoor seating would be a nice addition. Lots of good flavors. Read more
