Reviews for Applebee's Grill + Bar in Morganton, NC
I will start off by saying that I am a general manager of a sit down establishment very similar to this. I understand staffing... or lack there of, has been an issue since COVID. However, I watched at least six employees go back and forth by our table in thebar section. Amber was our server and it was very obvious that bar top took priority. Unfortunately, my husband and I rarely geta date night and tonight was very disappointing. Food was decent and (whom I believe was the manager) assisted in getting ourfries and to go boxes but overall not a good experience. Read more
It was Veteran's Day and lunch time on a Friday (They were quite busy). Seated in under 15mins, staff was friendly, food was... flavorful and made exactly as my (overly picky) companions had ordered. To top it off, we got to thank a few brave men for theirservice. Read more
Our server Amber was fantastic and very attentive. As a matter of fact after not being in an Applebee's for at least 5 years we... came back and have now been here twice in the last 2 weeks both with the same server who was excellent both times. The managerMike continuously rotated through the restaurant making sure everybody was happy. He bussed dishes, brought out food and helpedhis servers. That is a good leader. If you haven't tried Applebee's in a while or haven't tried this one in Morganton give it achance it'll make you happy. Read more
Happened to be in town at a school function. Made a bad decision when we decided to visit this Applebee's. We don't have one... within reasonable distance by home, so this was going to be a treat. The waitress was so over loaded because I guess staffingissues. She did her best but kept sending the bus boy to give us more sodas, I guess to get our minds off of waiting for ourappetizers for over 40 minutes. I kid you not, if we had said yes we would have had five glasses of soda each by the time theapps came. At least when they did they were hot and fresh. Unfortunately our meals were jot the same. My husband's bourbonchicken was still cold in the middle and my quesdilla burger had me up sick all night. I am a huge fan of Applebee's, first timeI have EVER been to a bad one. So we stopped here on our way out west and did not have a great experience. When we walked in we were greeted and the general... manager was there. She was very pleasant and professional. We were seated and our drink orders were taken in a good amount oftime. We ordered our food and it came out pretty quickly, that is where it all went down hill. I ordered the appetizerquesadilla, my son ordered a burger, and my husband ordered a steak. My son said his burger was good but my quesadilla was warmat best. My husband's steak came out hot and the server asked if he wanted any sauce. He said he wanted A1, the server said shewould be right back. My husband ate all his sides and we asked for the A1 twice more before flagging down the general manager,she went back and got his A1 right then, but by then his steak was cold. The manager was very good and comped us the steak meal.The food wasn't bad, but the inattentive waitress spoiled the experience. Read more
Bartenders and wait staff are always really friendly and really fast. The made to order food has always been top notch. Robert... is an excellent cook and cannot get a steak made wrong, a rare chef among those in the field. The 2 for $22 is unbeatable whenit comes to this type of dining. Read more

My salad with chicken was great. Had to wait a bit but we were ok. Dont sit near the door on a cold day! Brrrr
