Since my mother and I discovered this restaurant several years ago, it's been a mainstay! We visit several times during the year... and have a laid-back, homemade, enjoyable meal each time. Burgers, hot dogs, fries, ice cream, and more are all excellent. Staffare more than friendly every time, and the place has a "homey" feel to it. As Popey's celebrates 50 years, we hope they stickaround for many more years to come! Read more
Came here for lunch stayed for the ice cream. Lunch was a typical quality, sweet potato fries were good and my mom had grilled... cheese with tuna that she said was really good. Kids meal was really cute and a good amount of food. The ice cream is so good!I got Maine black bear and I loved it! Love ice cream with raspberry. My mom had the cherry blossom and loved it too! The small(two scoops) were two generous scoops. Glad my sister recommended we go here. Read more
4/20/22_stopped in before noon for a Popey's Burger.. the burger was great albeit a little overpriced at almost $10 and again... the wait time was very long especially considering it wasn't that busy yet. I enjoy a laid-back atmosphere but 23 minutes for ahamburger is a little much. If you have the patience and the money I would still recommend it as a place to go if you're in thearea especially if after your meal you enjoy a nice selection of ice cream! I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food wasn't allthat bad, the burger was cooked the way that I asked and the fries were crinkle cut and cooked golden brown which I like. Theproblem was, I waited 25 minutes for a cheeseburger that ended up costing me $12 and when I asked what the delay was I was toldthat because of the size of the burger it took a longer time to cook. Ok, so a delay like that, waiting for your order issomething that would annoy anyone, but being spoken to honestly is more important than the wait.. was I honestly to believe thatit takes almost a half hour to cook a hamburger? The prices here are immodestly high as well.. if you plan on coming here,expect to be patient and have that wallet ready. Read more
Great Ice Cream, good food. This place is a summer tradition. Hot dogs, burgers, a few other sandwiches, wraps and fries are all... good. My only complaint is the hot dog chili is more like tomato paste than meat sauce (or chili). Giffords Ice Cream is one ofmy favorite brands, lots of flavor choices. Read more
