nice and friendly waiter who delivered just the right amount of attention. we sat in the patio area and my chair had like 3... patches of tape ???? which I didn?t notice until after. Clam chowder was good. I ordered the avocado burger and I thought thepatty was dry. Decent amount of bacon though. Brioche bun was also dry. Decent view of morro rock from the restaurant ? butprobably not coming back for the food. water taste : 7/10 Read more

Dutchman?s was very busy when we arrived! They had a 2 hour wait! The bar area was self seating if available. Thankfully we were... able to sit at the bar area quickly to skip the wait. You can expect to spend $15-40 per person. The food came quickly and itwas delicious. My family and I were very pleased with our meal and loved the view we had as well of Morro Rock. Read more

CALAMARI, CALAMARI, CALAMARI! I?ve tried calamari from a lot of places and I?m telling you that DUTCHMANS HAS THE BEST FRIED... CALAMARI I?VE EVER HAD! We visited Morro Bay late April and early May 2022. The delicious smells of food were all around. Therewere lots of restaurants to choose from. We wanted seafood and we went to another restaurant before we found out aboutDutchman?s. I don?t remember the name or how the food tasted. What I know is that after looking up reviews we wanted to tryDutchman?s calamari. So we got some to go. Even after eating at this other place, we decided to go ahead and try them while inthe car. OH MY GOD! They were so delicious! They were not chewy at all. Very fresh! They were perfectly seasoned and friedlightly to perfection! The sauces that came with it were also good and went right along with it. The three sauces that came withit were a white sauce that I think was a house tartar sauce, a sweet chili sauce that was oh so good and ketchup. I could dowithout the ketchup but the other two were great, especially when you ate the calamari with both. You can also see the MorroRock from here. Nice and clean inside. We were visiting California from St. Louis and we stayed in San Simeon, which is about30 miles from Dutchman?s, yet we found ourselves here at least two more times and that was towards the end of our vacation, withprobably 2-3 more days left in the trip. You will not be disappointed in these. I know we had other food and I?m sure it wasgood but I can?t stop thinking about how delicious the calamari was. Read more

The best seafood restaurant in the area hands down! Haven?t been since March but still counting down until I make it down there... again. From perfectly fried calamari, tastiest clam chowder, garlic fries and the most mouthwatering mussels imaginable. Myniece order the Caesar salad and you cannot get fresher dressing than this. Everything I?ve had is absolutely divine. You haveto check this place out. Oh, and the view ???? Read more

Came here for a quick lunch before a business meeting. Got seated right away and our orders were taken almost as soon as we sat... down. We ordered clam chowder and their fish and shrimp combo. Clam chowder was delicious! The fish and shrimp combo was alsogood but it was your typical fish and chips plate, nothing special. We asked to get our ticket asap bc we were in a rush andthey quickly took care of us. Good food, good ambiance, great view and great service???? will come again! Read more

Prime view of Morro rock while you?re eating. There?s also a patio walkway that?s open to the public that wraps around from the... back. We got seated along the windows. Best view of the rock. We ordered crab cakes ($18.95), fish and chips ($16.50), andsnapper (rockfish) local with the sauce from the Pacific sands dabs dish ($18.95). That was recommended by our sever and it wasdelicious. It?s with a lemon caper sauce instead of the original lemon thyme vinaigrette sauce. Served with pilaf rice andseasonal vegetables. The best crab cakes (2). Super fresh with chunks and chunks of crab. Be careful because I bit on a pieceof crab shell. The Alaskan cod was used for the fish and chips. They were giant pieces and the batter was crispy and the fishstayed moist. Read more
