Good service, clean restrooms, huge dining area and excellent specials is why they get a 5 ***** Star rating. Tried the buy one... take one home special which was $15.99 and you have one for dinner and take one home for free. It was the most excellentdeal. Early morning visit as it was one of few places opened. Traditional diner with one staff working to attend several tables and... few regulars on bar area. Ordered corned beef hash skillet and it was beyond salty! Tried to adjust it by adding more blackpeppers but did not help. All I got was "many people order it" response when I was able to get attention. Side of multigraintoasts were over toasted and soggy perhaps from sitting there. If in the area again, may return to try something else butoverall, for price paid, it was just OK meal. Read more
I went to Kappy's when I was a wee lad, and was surprised to see this place still open. I decided to take the kids here for... nostalgia. The place has definitely been updated since. Inside, there were plenty of booths and tables. The outdoor seating areawas somehow closed. With the boys and I, we ordered: - Mama Alpoganis Meatloaf -- it came with mashed potatoes and gravy. Thegravy was interestingly orange. Despite that, my son really liked it - Pot Roast -- this was my pick. The gravy was moretraditional brown, and came with several slices of pot roast. The meat was OK... it wasn't seasoned as well as I hoped, but thegravy covered it, literally and figuratively. The mashed potato was good - Jumbo shrimp basket -- my son got this one as he wascraving shrimp and fries. We were all surprised by the large shrimp (or shrimpS?) and the amount as well. This was good. Allentrees came with soup or salad. The boys got the matzo ball soup, which I had a couple of bites (or is it sips?) and it waspretty good. The broth wasn't too salty, but just right, mixed with the matzo ball. I went with the cream of potato. It wasreally good as well. Service was really good. The people there were very attentive, friendly, and was on-point. I'm bumping upthis review because of that. It was nice to enjoy a meal at a restaurant where I use to go. Ah, the memories. My wife and I usually go here every weekend for breakfast. The food is great, the wait staff and servers are friendly and fast.... The food ? Cooked to PERFECTION ! But it is sad to say that one bad experience OR person can take away a star. I was in foodservice for 26 years, but just because I am not anymore doesn't mean that I forgot anything... like the 1st person that greetsyou at the door is the lasting impression you will get that will make or break another visit. I value fast friendly service, Ialso value food cooked with love like this restaurant does, what I don't value is the Hostess asking me why I want to sit in acertain servers section. Sorry NOT SORRY, it's my choice. Your job as host/hostess is to accommodate the customers needs, notmake snide remarks like "Really?!" This isn't the 1st time this has happened either. 3 strikes and that's it, welcome to Dennis'Reviews ! Over all the place is outstanding, Food is always fresh ! Don't let the hostess scare you off. Lots of food choices but slow service. The food was VERY filling and they had large portions. I specifically loved the skillet... and my friends enjoyed the pancakes. Definitely a day for leftovers! Read more

A family run restaurant offering breakfast food all day along with a variety of salads,sandwiches and daily specials. I observed... many regulars as one of the owners stopped at many of the tables to say hello. Endless refills on coffee. Entrees come witheither soup or salad. I had the matzo ball soup which was delicious. I heard the shrimp basket was good so I decided to try it.You get a pound of shrimp which are lightly breaded and fries. Definitely worth the money.
