The food is just ok...nothing to get excited about. The prices are some of the highest ive seen for mexican restaurants (i paid... 24-ish dollars for a chicken and steak quesadilla.) Service was pretty bad..had to find a server to ask for drinks. Had to finda server to ask for refills. Had to find a server to ask for silverware, check and to-go boxes. Read more

This is a bad post for the manager of this place. Went in to get some food, chips were like cardboard. Asked for some more. The... waitress said the manager said they made them fresh this morning. Mind you it's 6:20 pm. The next batch they brought were worsethan the last ones. The manager took those chips and dipped them in the oil fryer and said that should be good. The waitresskept apologizing and said she didn't understand why they woukd do that and not make a new batch. Absolutely a no go because ofhow the manager handled it. Incredibly disappointed in La Rumba overall, not just this location. This particular La Rumba messed up my family's order twice.... Didn't receive ketchup for my fries like requested. Twice I had asked so I had to eat bland fries in which I had to sprinklesalt on myself. I was going to leave our waiter a tip (the remaining change I had) but he pocketed some of it. Super dishonestand even insensitive considering the amount of mess-ups. I understand tipping is important and honestly the waiters/waitressesshould be paid a living wage. But don't pocket change. It was more than just a few measly coins. Was gonna give him more butsince he did that I took my money and left. The La Rumba in Sulphur used to be spectacular. Hot food, friendly service, nevermessed up once from the many times I've visited and I've always left nice tips for them. Now since it's reopened it went to,putting it lightly, garbage. Food comes out cold, my friend ordered something requesting cheese be taken OFF because of anallergy. They loaded it with cheese and tried arguing with me the allergy was never stated. Read more
I feel like it's hit or miss here. Fortunately the last two times have been hits. The first time we went when they first opened... it was horrible and I was ready to never go back. However, they announced new management/ kitchen staff. We went back a couplemonths ago and then last week and it was definitely an improvement. Is it authentic Mexican? No. Is it good tex-mex? Yes. Doesn't really look or feel like a Mexican restaurant, service was prompt, chips and salsa were very good! Good was OK at best,... prices were HIGH, for a local restaurant and the quality of the food definitely did not match the price. We ordered the BurritoSupreme from the Lunch menu. Not sure what made it Supreme, nothing but shredded chicken inside. Probably won't go back. Read more
Delicious food and incredible margaritas. Restaurant can be a little loud on days with heavy rain, cheese dip in incredibly... small compared the price, food is little pricey but great quality. Everything I've ordered so far has been amazing and everydrink perfect. Read more
Decided to try here for the first time because of the 2 for 1 margaritas. We walked in only a family of 5 was there and 2 or 3... ppl at the bar looked to be a slow night. We took at seat at the bar, cause we originally just wanted to try the margaritas.Bartender let us know only the Strawberry flavored margaritas were 2 for 1 no problem. Then the lady next to us food arrived andshe had the shrimp fettuccine looked amazing, my boyfriend suggested we order food because he wanted to try that. I orderedShimp enchiladas food came out quickly not a very long wait, but my boyfriends fettuccine looked nothing like the ladies it lookmore like white soup with a few noodles and shrimp ??????????? he asked could he just get a little more noodles to attempt tobalance out the sauce to noddle ratio. I guess it was a miscommunication between him and the bartender he brought out a secondplate of watery sauce and noodles no shrimp we just accepted and didnt say anything else about it. My tortillas were hard Icould barely cut through them even though they were covered in white sauce I just ate the over cooked dry shrimp out the middlethe bean nothing spectacular I typically don't eat them any way rice blan and flavorless.
