Food was fire and the portions were large. The hibachi chicken and shrimp was top notch. Would love to try the sushi sometime.... Finally some options in good ol Mound. Hopefully they stay and can provide gas hibachi and sushi for a while. Read more

I have intended to try Daruma for some time now but never seemed to find it open. The hours are pretty inconsistent and it’s... hard to tell (by looking) if they are even open. A big “open” sign would help. The food we had was great, especially the potstickers and tempura vegetables. And the Sapporo beer was nice and cold. Service was friendly but could have been a little moreattentive. We’ll definitely be back and looking forward to trying the sushi. Read more

I ordered a Daruma Roll and nothing was wrong with it I just personally didn\'t like the \"torched\" flavor. I called to ask if... they would be able to switch it for something else and they did it no problem. Everything else I\'ve had there has been wellworth the money. Customer service is great too. CLEAN GRILL AWARD ????\nFRESH ALTERNATIVE ????\nCLEAN RESTAURANT AWARD ????\n\nDate night Friday early evening 6:30 pm May 20th,... 2022. We stopped at Hibachi Darma the new hibachi sushi-sake restaurant located in Mound Minnesota (my home town a few blocksdown). We were the 2nd customers in at that time. We sat at the sushi bar. I ordered a Sapporo Asian beer and it pairedperfectly with my dish. There is also a extensive Sake selection, even warm Sake as well. Other alcoholic beverages wereavailable including wine. You can ask for a glass of water with ice, or you can have bottled water. There were also a few popselections in a cooler near the Hibachi order area.\nOn first arrival the look of the restaurant is extremely clean and tidywith place settings at the sushi bar and a welcoming feel. Others started arriving just after we received our meals, and by thetime we’d finished, the restaurant had a few more tables. I also noted a few carry outs. Not too busy.\nAttentive staff andspeedy response. You are given chopsticks, but regular table service with forks and knives are available just for the asking.Soy sauce is plentiful and right at the table in quaint small ceramic bottles.\nThe room is spacious and airy, with a largewindow, tables throughout and a long bench across the back of the room with tables attached. One huge farm-like table is greatfor large groups.\nOne thing I noticed while sitting at the sushi bar was a strong smell of either glue or paint that was a bitoverwhelming at times. The place is quite new so I assume it’s something to do with newer construction of some sort.\n\nAsidefrom that, we started with the California sushi roll that came with a good dab of wasabi and a bit of pickled ginger. Wasabi wasfresh and kickin’! The pickled ginger was a bit on the dry side but flavor was great. The crab in the sushi roll was amazinglydelicious and fresh, and the first try of their sushi was a hit! There were many other selections of sushi, some s Read more

We were looking forward to trying this new restaurant in Mound so last night we gave it a try with a takeout order. We ordered... the Tonka Roll, hoping it was comparable to Yumi’s Tonka Roll, and it is actually better than Yumi’s. Since the avocado inthis version of the Tonka Roll is flash fried the roll is served warm. It was delicious, very flavorful and tasted fresh.\nWealso ordered a side of Pork Gyoza and a cup of Yum Yum Sauce. The Gyoza was good as well and reminded us of Gyoza we used to getin Tokyo. The restaurant was busy but seemed very open and spacious. One suggestion would be to dim the lights a little so itdoes not feel so industrial. Maybe add some side lighting as well.\nOverall a very good first impression and we will definitelyreturn. Read more

The food was good but it was not $25+ per person good. Specially consedering that this is a fast casual style restaurant. For... this price i whould expect at least a full service restaurant. You have get up and go get anything you need. You pay beforeordering. If you need extra water or a beverage, you have get up stop all conversation and go get it or to the register to buyit. Daruma is a fantastic and welcome addition to the Mound food scene. Equally as delicious as their food truck that frequents Back... Channel Brewing, with larger portions.\n\nWe tried their chicken and shrimp hibachi, sushi, and gyozas, all were outstanding andvery filling. Don’t forget to order extra yum yum sauce!\n\nThe interior looks great - wide open and clean. There’s even asushi bar with many options.\n\nStaff was friendly. Food was ready on time (only 20 minutes for a big order!). This place is agreat option for takeout. Read more
