We went to Surah for the first time recently to celebrate our anniversary. It was a wonderful experience. The food was... fantastic, our Chef JJ (who also happened to be the owner) was awesome. He and his wife made us feel like family and we had agreat time. I would highly recommend going. Read more
We picked up a good meal for 4 today. My kids loved the rice and noodles from the hibachi chicken. The adults felt like it... needed a little more flavor but otherwise good. We also got sushi rolls and they were all on point. I definitely recommend thetempura shrimp, that was fantastically crispy and flavorful! Read more
Can't overstate how bad of an experience my party had here. We were sat, then moved 5 minutes later to a table directly behind... us with no real differences that could be figured out. Hibachi was entertaining, food was cooked, nice show. Meanwhile 2 guestsat my party hadn't received food. The checks came before their food, no server to refill drinks. If I were a better man I wouldhave walked out on the whole bill. Talked to management and they literally did nothing. Won't be back. Ps, should have known thecaliber, can't even spell Japanese correctly on their building. My husband and I came here for the first time and we thought it was pretty good. The service was good any mistakes that were... made were corrected without us having to mention the mistake. My husband got the bulgogi and he said the shrimp was over cooked,the bulgogi was little too bold and he got tired of eating it because of that reason. He thinks he it needs more balance toenjoy it a little longer. I’d prefer a different sauce for the salad like the orange salad dressing other places use (not surethe name of the dressing) instead of the peanut paste sauce. The sushi was very good. I got the spicy California roll and myhusband and got the smoked salmon maki. We got the Flaming Volcano drink for two and it was pretty cool and aestheticallypleasing. Overall it was good and we’ll be back. They also had a button with three features such as “call”, “pay”, and“cancel”. It was a nice little feature to have for the restaurant. I think I just ate the best sushi iv ever had. And it came out of Mt Airy??? Hamachi kama, 10/10 . . cheek fat, melted in... mouth. Shrimp Tempura , Home Run! Spicy tuna roll. 10/10 . . so tender. Salmon sushi ???? 10/10 melted likeM&Ms Dragon roll , 10/10 DELICIOUS. A "must go" for sushi. Found my new favorite sushi spot. Haven't tried hibachi yet. Read more
Very nice and accessible Japanese restaurant in Mount Airy. I stopped here last week to try their sushi menu with my wife and... daughter. We entered the restaurant and we greeted by a staff member and were sat right away. The restaurant has two sides.One side that looked to be mostly hibachi and the other side had a well stocked bar, a regular dining area and also had onehibachi table. The waitress was very nice and took our order right away. The sushi plate was extravagant and included nicesized pieces of fish. Most of sushi was very good and some could have been better, but I was generally satisfied with themeal. My wife had a chicken dish that was very good a well. Terrible experience. Food was lousy, with no flavor. We were a party of 7 that was packed with another party of 7 at one table.... No room for any of us. It took 40 minutes after sitting to get our soup and then another 20 minutes for the salad. 20 minutesafter that the cook showed up where he rushed the meal and the dinner was just awful.
