We picked up from Basil while staying in Isle of Palms. The food was delicious though not as spicy as I like my Thai food (but... my in-laws were happy with the spice level, so that was really all that mattered). Like the saying goes- Happy in-laws, happyvacation! So if you like heat- ask them to dial it up. We had the spring rolls, vegetables green curry (for the vegan), drunkennoodles (pad kee mow), pad prik, vegetables delight (also for the vegan). Everything was delicious. When I picked up the food,the place was packed and looked very nice. I will definitely dine in here next time I'm in IOP (and ask for everything veryspicy). Read more
I?ve been searching for good Thai food in Charleston for awhile and several people recommended Basil. Today I finally caved and... agreed to pay 20+ bucks per entree to finally snag some great Thai food? Was not worth it. I?m not sure if they have just overexpanded with spots across South and North Carolina, but good cooking seems to have been lost along the way. The place isbeautiful, but the entrees were bland or were just bad. Fresh rolls were generic and small. Som tum was ok. The basil entry wasjust over cooked meat and my wife decided to leave the red curry and pick up something elsewhere. And man, they messed up therice? really? Read more
The food and service was amazing! So tasty. We sat outside and there were some annoying flies but there was this hilarious... little lizard that sat in our flowers and ate probably 8 flies. Super entertaining and very helpful, it had quite thepersonality! Should be on staff really. Read more
This place has fantastic views; I was sitting outside to enjoy their food. The staff service is excellent. The prices are... slightly higher than in other areas. Unfortunately, the food is a bit salty for me. Read more
Service was great!!! I didn?t catch our waiters name but he was a sweet young man. The food was good and hot. The green tea... fried ice cream was magnificent!! Only ?issue? that I had was my drink being a little strong. But our waiter was able to get mesome simple syrup to sweeten it up. Other than that, the atmosphere, food and service was great. Read more
Other than the longer than expected wait, the food was great. We'd definitely return for another date night. Hopefully we can... get quicker service and the same or better food experience. This is for the Basil in Mt. P. We did get take-out the next dayat the one in N.Chuck, since we really enjoyed the food. Read more
6 stars! Best thai food that I had in a long time. Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) and green curry were beyond fantastic. The area... around is very nice for walking and the outdoor seating is lovely. I highly recommend it. Read more
It?s amazing every single time. The appetizers, soups, entrees? total perfection. Fresh ingredients, so many healthy options to... choose from, and amazing service from the staff. I love that they also provide a coat rack for you by the host stand (it?s thelittle things.) One of the best restaurants in Charleston for dinner. Read more
