Wow! Husband and I are visiting from NJ and wanted a healthy salad before heading back to the airport. Stopped here for lunch... and we both had a half Cobb salad with tomato crab soup and some drinks and were not disappointed! So good, so fresh. Wish wehad somewhere like this at home. Will definitely be back on our next visit. Read more

Third time having dinner here and each time has been a culinary delight. Their soups alone are a destination dish illustrated by... the fact that you can order a flight of them or make a meal out of a bowl as my partner loves to do. Her love is the potatobrocolli cheddar which is both vegetarian and gluten free. On my flight, I tried the potato brocolli cheddar, the tomatotarragon crab, and the Mexican chicken chili. They are all fantastic. I personally have settled on the tomato crab as my goto. The flavors and textures are great and it's not something that I can make at home or get anywhere else. The restaurant itselfis smallish and intimate right inside. We've been there when it's packed and when it's quiet. We've always been able to hold aconversation comfortably even at its loudest. On Saturday my soup arrived with my entree, coffee & rosemary grilled porktenderloin, maple smashed sweet potatoes, braised kale with blackberry molasses. We also ordered the gluten free cornbread withblackberry molasses. I don't typically overeat at restaurants but I had to try all of this. For cocktails we had the blueberrylemondrop and the blackberry bourban cooler. The cast iron baked cornbread was ample and had a great combination of moist anddry that made it perfect to break off for bites of soup, the perfectly sauteed kale, and the smooth sweet potatoes. I thinkwhat impresses me most about the menu is the way the chef offers sweet and savory flavor combinations that allow you to build ameal that allows a person to eat and sip around the plate. Everything on the menu seems to be good and offers those who aregluten-free vegetarians and omnivores opportunities for a night out that can't be found anywhere else in the greater Charlestonarea. Ate there on a Sunday. Food and service was great. The place had ample parking and was open during construction. Lot of... vegetarian options. It was really busy and a bit loud. We ordered spinach salad, breakfast enchilada, portobello goat cheeseburger. Everything tasted delicious. Food came out fast and our server was super nice. Read more

Delish lunch spot that the locals seem to frequent. The space is mid renovations, so it seemed to be a bit more hectic, but our... experience wasn?t hampered but this much. Our server was super nice and efficient, and our meals were all top notch. Westarted with a pitcher of sangria, which was paired nicely with our sandwiches and almost had some dessert too, but we werepleasantly filled from lunch and the drinks. Good stuff. Read more

Living up to its name, Five Loaves knows how to do bread and delicious sandwiches. My favorite is the vegetarian Portobello Goat... Cheese Burger which has the perfect crispness of a falafel with a creamy umami taste. Excellent service too! Read more

I have always enjoyed the quality of the food at five loaves, and always felt satisfied when I left. But this time, at lunch on... a weekday, I took the servers suggestion of trying the Reuben sandwich, and found it to be wanting in every regard. First ofall, it was puny: it was cut in half and I could Place the bread from 1/2 of the sandwich in the nook between my thumb andforefinger, and leave nearly a knuckle exposed. And there was no noticeable dressing, the sauerkraut had little bite, And therye bread was just as unremarkable as everything else. Update Feb 15, more than a week following my Post: I saw the Owner?sresponse, and as requested, emailed my contact information more than a week ago, and have yet to receive a response. Read more

There were a lot of rave reviews for this place so we thought we'd go check it out. To us, it was fine but not great. The... chorizo hash was kind of dry and the chorizo was not anything to write home about. And they also did not serve the eggs runny,so they didn't coat the rest of the food which is always the best part of any hash. The sausage and cheese buttermilk biscuitsandwich, which was an accommodation substituting sausage for eggs, was quite good. The salad with goat cheese was very freshand nice. Overall not bad. Very friendly service and kid-friendly. Indoor seating only. Read more

Wonderful Bistro, lots of energy, fills up quick both inside and out. Parking is limited in shopping center, if all spots full... then usually a 15 minute wait to eat. Half a sandwich will fill most so get full at your own risk! Read more
