Just stopping by the town on a road trip and chanced upon this wonderful Indian place. Unassuming ambience and delectable and... authentic food using 90% organic ingredients. The saag paneer used at least four different greens and the sheer freshness of themustard greens and spinach shone brightly in the dish. The samosas were fresh and the chai infused with a generous amount ofginger. What a treat! Read more

I?m visiting from San Francisco and loved my dinner at Hari Om Shri Ram! The owner was so warm and welcoming and I had the vegan... thali plate which was so filling, healthy, and delicious. Heart-warming on a rainy day. I will definitely be back ???? Read more

I am surprised by all the 5 star reviews. The main reason to give 1 star is that the food is very expensive. $27 for a curry is ... expensive and quantity is less. Food tasted very okay. The naan seemed like pita bread. The name of the restaurant is Hari OmShri Ram but they do serve non-vegetarian food. The manager was friendly though. I hope they work on the taste and prices. Absolutely Delicious! I?ve only been to 3 different Indian restaurants in my life and this one doesn?t disappoint! I really hope... they start being open more because this place really needs some fixing up, and decorations. I highly recommend trying this placeout if you get the chance. Read more

Overpriced, slow, ordinary. Based on all the excellent reviews and high prices I was under the impression it is going to be my... best Indian food experience ever but it turned out to be quite the opposite. Upon entering we were not greeted, if we hadn?t satdown at a table we would have just ended up standing for 10 minutes at least probably. The host/waiter/bus boy/cook is oneperson (who I assume is the owner) for the whole restaurant!!! How can it be a good experience based on this? There is also noprinted menu or a QR code to scan, instead it?s just a white board with unclear handwriting on what?s available. Also the owneremphasized the pricing on the menu - are estimates? We had one thali plate which was big enough for only 1 person but the price$28 should cover 2 people I think. They didn?t have the most basic thing - Samosas :( The food was fine but nothing special. Icould tell it was heated up rather than freshly cooked, because it was partially lukewarm. And the Naan? It was the tiniest Ihave ever seen, it wouldn?t be enough even for a baby. During the whole visit we of course had to ask for everything separatelyand then wait for a while - water, napkins, the check. I have only one question ?Who are these people that left all those 5stars reviews!?? Read more

As an Indian myself, I was shocked to find authentic Indian food in small town California. All the food was A+. The owner took... really great care of me and my friends, treating us like family. It truly felt like I was dining at some long lost family'splace. Definitely give this place a go! Read more

The food was great but that's not the only thing that builds your experience. Based on the owner's suggestion, we had ordered... for a veg thali with Saag Paneer and a Chicken Thali. The food was absolutely delicious. In vegetarian thali, we got a mixed veg(very different than the usual Indian mixed veg), daal, rice, with a small naan, palak paneer. He also added a gobi aloo as wellwhich we requested instead of daal. All of the food felt light weight but flavorful and filling too. The Chicken thali had allthe above and a chicken tikka as well. The 2nd time we had food there, we had ordered for veg pakoda and chai. When we calledup initially, he wasn't pleased as it seems like they don't serve the pakoda and chai by itself. You need to have dinner as wellalong with. This was absurd to be honest. But anyway we arrived there and the owner was apologetic and served us the pakoda andchai. Pakoda was great and very flavorful but the chai was not good at all. It felt like the chai was made in a vessel which wasused for other dishes and not washed well. Chai had a strong flavor of veg curry. The hospitality was good. We enjoyed talkingto the owner initially, as others have mentioned but eventually it felt a bit intrusive. At times it was hard to have aconversation with my wife while having our lunch(and dinner, on day 2) as he would come back with something to talk about. Imust say, he won't let you miss your Indian "neighborhood uncle" :-D. He mentioned the following words "organic" and that he isa "botanist" Multiple times during our 2 visits to this place which became repetitive to me after some time. One of the reasonswhy we kept wondering if we should get a take out instead of having the food there on the 3rd day. Having said this, next timeI am in Shasta I will surely get food from here if we have a craving for some spicy homely food. Read more

Great food and awesome hospitality! The owner made us feel very much at home and even shared an off menu item his family made... for themselves that was delicious (it was a coconut, cilantro and mint chutney I think) The samosas were huge and very flaky andfresh. Some of the food was a little spicy but I felt like it was a perfect amount and not overwhelming like some Indian foodcan be. I would definitely stop here if you want some good quality food and a relaxing environment Read more
