This is the only place where you can get authentic taco such as lengua in Mt. Vernon, but unfortunately mine came out cold and... gross. Their al pastor taco was phenomenal, though. Their house margaritas aren\'t bad, either.\n\nService was GARBAGE. I waitedalmost an hour to have our food order taken. Great food and friendly staff. The fresh made guacamole was amazing!! They also have a good selection of tequilas, bourbons and... domestic and imported beers. If you just want to quench your thirst on a hot day have a seat at the bar and enjoy! Read more

Authentic, a word I never thought I would get to use for a Mexican restaurant in the rural Midwest. The enchiladas are... incredible, and I would implore you to ask for varieties of salsa. If you love heat, they will gladly make some incredibledelicious salsas for you! Kind and attentive staff. Very well priced for amazing food.\n\nWouldn\'t recommend eating a ton ofthe hot salsa if you\'re pregnant though, unless you want to look like an idiot. I finally was able to try Casa Raya....it was AMAZING! I got a to-go order and had a margarita while I waited. The waitress... recommended the \"prickly pear\"...I don\'t usually like pear flavor but she seemed so about it that it made me want to tryit...so I did, and I LOVED it! The food all tasted just amazing. The atmosphere was perfect... definitely made me want to comeback to dine-in! I got the \"Coby\" for my friend, he said it wasn\'t like anything else he\'s ever had before and tasted great.I will definitely be back soon! Read more

I know a lot of people like to say all the Mexican places are alike and it’s all just chicken, rice, and cheese made the same... and put together 50 different ways but I truly enjoyed how authentic and fresh their food was. The staff was extremely helpfulas well as polite. I 100% will be back to try the rest of the menu and enjoy the gorgeous atmosphere. Can’t recommend itenough to anyone in the Mt.
