Southwest club taste great and fresh
Small place in the middle of nowhere, but my wife just had to try this place. We timed it wrong and hit the breakfast hours... instead of lunch menu hours, but weren't disappointed. She wanted to try the sandwiches, but settled for a breakfast bagel. Nowthat bagel was huge and awesome, she loved it. I had stuffed French toast and an egg scramble. Everything was terrific. Theservice was good and the staff was friendly. We were looking for quaint places to bring visiting guests when they come up here,and this place certainly made the list. Read more
I really hate writing bad reviews. I just don't feel good about it, because no one is perfect all the time. That being said, my... boyfriend and I went out for breakfast at the Olde Post Office Cafe this morning, and they served him his breakfast sandwich ona moldy English muffin. There was a spot of blue mold the size of a quarter right on the outside in plain site. My boyfriendworks in food service, so he refuses to complain no matter how bad the food or service is, but he did let the woman who took ourorder know about the mold, in case they had any other moldy English muffins in the kitchen. She responded that she was sorry...then walked away. A few minutes later she came back (prompted by the manager or owner) and asked us if she could get us anothersandwich or anything else. My boyfriend said no, not to worry about it, because he's too nice. His breakfast sandwich wasinedible, the fact that they let us walk out of there having paid for it, is absolutely appalling to me. The owner even cameover as we were getting ready to leave and put a little flower on our table and said nothing about the moldy breakfast sandwich,didn't even offer an apology. I'm so disappointed, because the cafe is in such a lovely spot and I really really wanted to likeit, but I don't see us ever going back after the experience we had... some smaller things that really irritated me; thesilverware was plastic, individually wrapped in plastic, they served my mimosa in a plastic cup, and the spinach omelette Iordered was filled with an obscene amount of bland, unappetizing spinach. The sun dried tomatoes where all clustered in onesmall corner of the omelette and they were hard and flavorless. I used to get better omelettes at my university cafeteria. It'sjust so upsetting that if you want to live in a beautiful, quiet corner of Maine you have to sacrifice eating quality food...especially for the prices, which are very high... $9 for a little mimosa in a plastic cup? Adorable little Cafe with delicious food! Has outdoor seating right in the water!
Nice bright, cozy atmosphere! This place is fairy small but located right on the water and has a nice view of the lake. The food... was very tasty and was brought out to us quickly. Sadly we missed breakfast (which ends at 11) but the Lox BLT was a greatalternative! And the panini selection was great as well! Read more
