Driven by many times, glad I finally stopped in. I think they go the extra mile. I ordered enchiladas, loved the pico de Gallo... on top. Chips and sauce come with the meal, hot sauce was perfect. Not your average Mexican restaurant... better ???? Read more

Today I was able to stop and try this restaurant that has gone through some owner and management changes over the past year or... so. I have been here a few times before and I found the food seasoned well, but the service to be rather slow. As I am on mylunch break today, I hope they have improved on that. The salsa had good flavor and not a lot of heat. Most house salsa's havea bit more bite, but this sauce has good body as it is nice and chunky. The beef enchilada was mild also. The flavor had a bitof what seemed like raw spice, but the flavor was not off putting. The chicken was moist but also bland except for the sauce. Itwas a bit sour like they used cheese and butter milk or something. After adding the salsa and some of the rice and beans itbalanced out. Over all it was a good meal. The service was reasonably quick and the waitress was very attentive. One of the bestthings is the price. I could have maybe got a combo at McDonald's for less but I would have had much less of an experience too.I will make this a regular stop in what's to eat today in Mount Vernon TX list based off of service and price.
