This is absolutely one of my new favorite sushi restaurants in the Bay Area. I have had the opportunity to enjoy many chefs'... works over the years, and this is by far on the top end of my list. The chef and his staff were professional, generous, kind, and attentive. I never waited more than a few moments for a full glass of water or hot tea, the food was delicious (withbeautiful, fresh, and crisply tasting fish and other flavors), the plating was immaculate and enticing, and the ambiance waspleasant to enjoy the meal. I highly recommend everyone go to Sushi Tomi. Read more

Wow! Long line on Thursday night around 7:30p. We waited 30 mins for two seats. Ordered sashimi dinner and dinner combination.... It?s so good!! My hubby is super picky about Japanese and admits the sashimi is soooo fresh. Definitely the best in mountainCastro street. Highly recommend. We spent $75 dinner for two. Hot tea is extra $1.5 now. It?s a pretty authentic japanese sushi place. Th fish sashimi are super fresh and delicious. Tamakoyaki is seeet and tasty. You... definitely want to try Omakase sushi set first time visiting. There is a big parking lot in front of the store. We came atSunday night and basically just wait for 10min. Read more

I had pretty high expectations of this place because it is kind of well known and we had to wait 30 minutes to get seated.... However the quality of the food was surprisingly low. We got 4 different kinds of fish for our chirashi dinner, and 2 of the 4were not good. They tasted pretty frozen and the texture was not smooth. The tempura fish was prob the worst I've had. There wasa layer of soggy batter btw the shrimp and the crispy outside. That is an indication of a poorly fried tempura... Read more

Very fine sushi. The sushi they give is a good amount it's not super small. Also this place is full of Asians so you know it's... great. The business doesn't have a sign so it's hard to see but the map is right on so trust it's there. Read more

Sushi dinner, special sushi set, and regular chirash were so good. And the Tonkatsu with curry was perfect for toddlers. BUT ,... the service of server was ..... not so great. I think it is just for us because the other server who serves right next tablelooked very nice to customers. The draft beer was very crisp and had a great taste though. Read more

Cozy Japanese restaurant with decent food and good pricing. It was busy when we were there on weekday evening so I guess it... would be busier on the weekend. We ordered Tonkatsu which came with a small bowl of soup and salad and some Sushi (salmon andunagi). Read more

This place is super busy a lot of the time and in a tucked away location on Castro but definitely worth the... visit! Good: Service is super fast, we got our miso soup and salads a few minutes after we ordered. The pork katsu curry isreally good too - it came out quickly and wasn't on the dinner menu but it was available to order. Definitely very tasty curry -maybe too much rice:meat ratio, but I still felt the portion sizes and value was good for the price. Their takoyaki was goodtoo - pretty standard but always savory and tasty in my opinion. Bad: Definitely less of a fancy place, more casual and thefood quality isn't the best I've had in terms of Japanese restaurants, but I still thought the food was good for theprice. Overall would come again! They have a huge menu. Read more
