I very much enjoyed the Koho Salmon with sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts. Everything on the plate went well together and was... a pure delight to my pallet. The carrot cake was good but the cake could have been more hardy with carrots and less sugar. Therestaurant was pretty loud when I was there which made it difficult to hear my tablemates. This location is great as well with tables over the water and great views! The service was great and the food and drinks as... well. We tried the clam chowder in the bread bowl this time but in the end it felt that we had too much bread and also thebottom of the bread bowl gets soggy. The rest of the food was good, the also serve warm bread rolls. They have significantdiscounts on many items on the menu during happy hour so if you can target that window go for it. Read more
Beautiful view from the deck! Great place to sit and watch the ferry go in and out. The food was a match for the setting. ... The Possession Sound Paella was packed full of mussels, clams, salmon and various seafood. So much yummy goodness. Thescallops were tender and topped with bacon and onion jam. Amazing flavor. This is an iconic seafood restaurant. Their reputation is well deserved. The seared halibut was just gently flaking away, and... the flesh still moist. The shrimp were seared to perfection. The garlic potatoes crushed to leave some texture to make the plateinteresting. The legendary chowder was absolutely delicious. If you do nothing else, stop in and have a bowl of heartychowder. First time coming to the restaurant and not just the pick up window and wow- loved it! Very nice inside but not stuck up and... warm and welcoming. There's wonderful paintings in the entrance done by a local artist that are incredible. My 6 year old and Isplit the Dungeness crab meal and it was delicious. Great flavor and cooked perfectly. Our waiter was quick and attentive butnot overbearing. The calamari was delicious too- wonderful dipping sauce and great crunch. Their berry lemon drops were strongand yummy! Absolutely wonderful experience with kind staff, especially thanks to Kimberly, who was our phenomenal waitress. Kimberly was... incredibly personable, attentive, and caring - our entire party of three agreed that she was easily the best server that we'veever had. Thank you Kimberly for making our night extra memorable! Ivar's has a clean nautical atmosphere and direct view ofthe waterfront. Throughout our meal, we were able to watch the waterfowl, ferries, and spotted a harbour seal swimming rightnear the outdoor seating. The food itself was wholly satisfying (includes complimentary bread and butter) with fresh cod fishand chips, cooked just right to not be too heavy or oily. The real star of the show was the clam chowder! I'm personally not afan of clam chowder at all, but I shared a bowl of chowder with a friend and it was the only clam chowder that I've everenjoyed. It's incredibly creamy and just the right heaviness, with diced potatoes and small palatable pieces of clam. No largechunks of clam at all! Definitely worth noting that they have an easily accessible online reservation system that accommodatessame-day reservations. I will definitely be visiting this scenic location again! Read more
