I have always loved Concannon's and never had an issue with their quality food or customer service. We haven't visited much... since the beginning of the pandemic and have just started to get back to buying donuts on occasion. Since we have returned Ihave noticed the customer service quality has dropped significantly... it is no longer the welcoming place it used to be.Unfortunately today has marked the last time we will be in to support the longtime local business. My Sister and I went in thisafternoon to inquire about reserving tables for a bridal shower brunch 3 weeks out and even though we have reserved in the pastwere told (after we had to request a manager) they do not allow reserved tables any longer. Mind you... they no longer servefood other than the bakery items you can purchase at the bakery counter and a limited coffee and drink menu so their table areais usually empty. We said okay, well... we will take our chances and could we order a cake? The same manager said yes but sinceit is three weeks away they would only be able to decorate a cake with balloons or maybe flowers because their only cakedecorator is on vacation and will not be back until after our get together date. I was thinking "this is Concannon's Bakeryright??". We have always bought our special occasion cakes and desserts without issue from this bakery and shared their namewith all of our friends and family from out of town. It was almost like the manager was trying to tell us don't come here... wedon't want your business. So therefore, we took our business to another local business called Made in Muncie. They were so happyto accommodate us and were as surprised as we were to hear about the customer service at Concannon's. Not sure what haschanged... the bakery was not busy as there were only a total of 5 customers in the whole building. I ordered a cake via phone and just described that I wanted anything superheros. They definitely delivered. It was very moist... and fresh. I am more a fan of whipped icing but my husband LOVES this cake. It is so put of our way but worth it. The actualstore is very clean and large. They have so many sweets and treats. We ended up leaving with donuts, chocolate peanuts, achocolate bunny, and my absolute favorite chocolate covered potato chips!!!! We will be back. I came in on a steady Sunday morning! The workers were very efficient and kind. Raven made me the yummiest Andes Mint latte and... was so sweet to make sure it was perfect for me. Their donuts are amazing and they always do a great job making sure customersare happy. If you?re getting lots of donuts (12+) on a weekend morning: ORDER AHEAD if possible! Concannon's is a staple in Muncie and everything there is incredible! Their donuts are the best for miles and their prices... remain competitive with the other donut shops around town. They're always quick and offer great service! 100% recommend,especially the frosted cinnamon rolls. Read more
