Long overdue 5 star review! This place is PREMIUM. Shout out to whoever cooks the Samsa and Piroshki, great batch today. Always... consistent, delicious and diverse selection from back of store in pre-prepared to the deli. Whoever owns Akef should be proud. Read more

the seller is rude, he answers a simple question with a complaint. The product is good, but I can't stand rudeness. The... cashier does not pay attention to you, stands with his back. To make a sausage cut, you need to call her, and more than once. After payment, he simply throws a check on the counter and turns away to continue watching TV. Don't waste your time. Read more

Great food and nice staff, and a huge selection on Eastern European products (mostly Russian) and delicious treats to enjoy.

(The latest review). I wouldn't recommend to buy the meat pies (called belyashi) here. The meat filling inside them looks... undercooked. Also I was disappointed with potato pies here. The last time I bought them they were overcooked andburned. (Previous review) I especially love their chebureki with pork and with lamb meat. These are the best, juicy, genuinerecipe-made chebureki in Chicago. My advice, before visiting this store call them and ask a seller to hold several cheburekifor you because they will go fast. Also ther pierozhki with cabbage, vatrushki with cottage cheese are good too. Read more
