Cute, cozy and extremely friendly service. The food here is excellent and huge portions too like your grandma use to make! I... highly recommend you try it out. My kids would not stop talking about it ????????????...Reminds me of the Resort straight out ofthe movie 'Dirty Dancing'...but less formal. You just can't find them like that anymore. Read more
Great food, atmosphere and the rooms are clean, and the lodges are awesome. The food is great.This is my second year coming up... and will keep this tradition going. Motorcycle friendly and a great spot to make as a home base. Second year staying at The Buck, do an annual motorcycle trip in the summer and the staff make it memorable each year. The food... is great, the bar is great, the staff are awesome. Highly recommend the Buckhorn all around for any trip to the area. It iscentrally located and easily accessible making this a great place for motorcyclists, trail riders, or the average vacationer. Make the Buckhorn your next go to place to stay and play when the north central UP of Michigan. Read more
Discriminates against large families. Walked out. Poor service. Slow. Doing so well they didn?t think they needed my party of... 10?s business. Their employees seem to not know the policies as we were told at the bar we could push tables together. We gotthere early (at their recommendation) and attempted to call ahead. We had 6 kids 4 adults. A five year old, three year old, anda 1 year old. Wouldn?t let us sit together. They said if they let the kids sit with us they would have to let all kids sit withtheir parents. The manger or owner was the most aggressive, despicable human. He became hostile very quick. Telling my husband?I?m not done talking to you,? which at this point we left. We were very respectable and understood splitting checks wasdifficult and we were willing to keep our tables separate, as long as we could sit together. Not a hotel guest - just ate at the restaurant. The servers were excellent. The food was mediocre, and the drinks had almost no... alcohol - really serious and really disappointing. We asked about the most popular items and ordered from the recommendations(burger, white fish), and they weren't great. Food costs are going up everywhere for everyone, and the prices were in line withother places in the area. Read more
Here for food only. Be clear how you want your steak cooked - like "charred rare" if you care. The beef is good and everything... was excellent. Staff pleasant and helpful. It was just a really nice experience. And if you're going to be up here, I encourageyou to give the place a try. Based on the people that I saw and the parking lot and near the motel rooms, I would encourage youto investigate staying here as well. I have a camp near here so I'm never going to stay here, but it looks so neat and clean andthe people staying here seem so happy that I think you'd do yourself a favor to look at this for a possible landing pad forsummer or winter or fall or spring..
