The food was really good. Had wings and a quesadilla shared with my family. The issue was with our server. Can?t recall her... name, but after she sat us came to take our order and after we had ordered the nachos tells us that they don?t have nachosanymore. We ask if there are other menu items not available and she isn?t sure. We ask for a minute to decide what we wantsince nachos weren?t available. She is gone for at least 10-15 minutes. We almost approached other servers asking if they couldtake our order. She then returns and apologizes that she got caught up in the back. She takes our order, which then our foodtakes about 40 minutes to come. The restaurant is not full and most tables already had their food. A group of 6 arrived about 25minutes after us and got their food before we did. We also have a 2 year old toddler with us, which keeping them placated forany length of time isn?t easy, this became downright an impossible challenge. Just after my spouse mentioned maybe getting ourfood to go since we were just done with waiting, our food arrived brought by other servers. Not once after we received our fooddid anyone come by and ask how it was, if we wanted more drinks, etc. The only reason this didn?t get a one star review is I?mhoping it is either a brand new server/just a bad night for her, and the food that we did get was a quite decent. The restaurant is perfectly located close to the Kakabeka falls, so it?s easy to drive there after a morning of hiking. The... staff is very friendly and helpful. Lastly, but most importantly the food is a blessing to my taste buds. I ordered fish andchips. Everything was freshly cooked, batter covered fish was delicious. I am definitely coming back! Read more
This place was suggested by our host and is a walking distance from where we stayed. We had ordered a spinach cheese dip that... came in with nacho chips and tasty naan breads. We also ordered 2 different burgers. Portobello mushroom burger originally comeswith a beef patty but we being vegetarians, the chef was kind enough to give us a 2 bean patty instead. The other Burger was aFalafel Burger that came with cottage cheese and fresh veggies. The quantity of the fries served with the Burger was great! Weenjoyed our meal and recommend it to everyone! Kakabeka has just a couple restaurants to visit. However, The Eddie is at the top of the food chain. If you?re passing through... to go camping or just having a quick visit to see the waterfall. You should do yourself a favor and stop in for some excellentfood and service. This food is legit. Real ingredients and everything is made from scratch. There is outdoor dining available aswell as indoor. All the tables indoors have barriers for COVID protection. Great place to bring the family. My server wasfriendly and helpful. The food was tremendous. I was there for breakfast. I had a four egg Everything Omelet with home fries,dry rye and a side of sausage. I may have over done it a bit, but I finished every last bite without complaint. The next timeI'm doing work out in the Kakabeka area, I'll be making The Eddie a priority for my lunch break. I usually don?t post reviews but I was very disappointed with my meal. I try to be empathetic with the fact there is a staff... shortage but when you wait an hour for a mediocre meal that is completely overpriced, it?s really upsetting. My partner and Iare from out of town and heard good reviews from friends. No body came by to ask if we needed drink refills and no update onwhen the food would be done. After an hour of waiting for the food, it was not what we ordered (missing items from food) and wasvery mediocre. Along with why this is one star is take out orders are prioritized over in store orders. Pretty disappointed. Read more
