Best bagel sandwiches, coffee and pastries. We ordered a pie for thanksgiving as well which was great.

My family has lived in Mystic for more than 20 years, but we had not tried Lis before. A few years ago, I called and left a... message inquiring about a wedding cake, but my call was never returned. More recently, someone suggested I try Lis, so I did(again). This time was more successful: I ordered a cake with an inscription on it. We went over the (very basic) inscriptionat least three times during the ordering process. $60+ for the cake. When I picked up the cake, however, the inscription wasincorrect, so I asked that it be corrected. (Correcting in this case involved adding only a couple of punctuation marks. ) She seemed utterly put out by the request. You would have thought I had asked the cake be redone on the spot. In 18k gold. Iwas shocked - and put off - by the contemptuous attitude. I stood aside and patiently waited the five minutes it took tocorrect the order and then left. The cake itself was very good, but it was offset by the distain I was shown for having thetemerity to ask that the cake please be what I ordered (and paid for!) - hence the lukewarm score. It occurred to me that hadsomeone at Lis apologized for the error and inconvenience, maybe the effect of the attitude could have been mitigated. List Bake Shop has the best cinnamon rolls! I am also a big fan of their chocolate chip caramel sea salt cookies! I love that... they have a takeout window they created in these times of Covid so you can get wonderful baked goods safely. Supporting localtastes great! Read more
Wow! I stopped in for almond raspberry cookies that Li (pronounced Lee) posted on Facebook. They're great! The cookie is very... buttery shortbread with just a hint of almond flavor. The raspberry jam isn't real intense but just the right degree to let thecookie stand out. I've had cupcakes from Li's before and love them too.i love Li's Bakeshop. Read more
