Our server was very nice and our salads were very good. However, 2 out of our three steaks which we ordered medium came out like... shoe leather. They were definitely not the quality you would expect for 40 bucks. In addition, the women?s bathroom wasdisgusting. There was garbage everywhere and it stunk. Disappointing Read more

This was the absolute worst meal ever! I did a pick up order. They texted me and said the order was ready. I waited another... 20 minn inside the restaurant. I had also ordered 2 alcoholic drinks on their website. They apparently don't do that anymore onto go orders. I finally got my order and got back to my hotel and the bottom of the bag fell out! When we sat down to eat. Thesirloin steak that was 29 Dollars was the smallest steak I have ever seen and not cooked the way we asked for it. Everythingelse was tasteless and bland. This place is a total tourist trap. Beware! I would rather go to taco bell. Read more

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE REVIEW I can totally understand the mixed reviews and if we had only eaten here the second visit, I would... never return. We were in Mystic for 2 days, we ate dinner here on Sunday evening and everything, I mean everything wasfantastic. The steak, the sides, the desert, the salads, namely the Grain Salad could not have been better and the service wasexcellent. So good in fact we went back on Monday for lunch, just for the Grain Salad. Yes it was that good! However, round twowas somewhat of a Murphy's law visit. Just about everything was wrong. Firstly, the girl at the door was more than rude. Thesame salad that delivered amazing presentation and taste the evening before was now some kind of uneventful, thrown togetherbunch of greens missing half the ingredients. The cheesecake was, well, let's just say it didn't get eaten. However I want tonote that we took home a carrot cake that was excellent. The flour-less chocolate tort is also amazing. We eventually spoke tothe manager who was very polite and understanding. Apparently there was nothing 'wrong' with the cheesecake, it was just thetaste of that vendors recipe that they would no longer be using. The issue with the salad was apparently a new untrained chefwhereas the person who made it the night before had to be moved to line cook due to staffing shortages. So the end result is,this place has some damn good food. Very reasonably priced. Great portions and wonderful service. As long as the right peopleare working when you go. If you have a bad experience, tell them but give them a second chance. Well worth the visit, willdefinitely eat here again on our next trip. Read more

I will say, the restaurant is a little on the darker side, but that is not a deterrent. Service was good. Got a soda and had... many refills. The fish and chips were good, but I have had better and have had worse. What I enjoyed the most was the clamchowder and Caesar salad. The chowder had alot of flavor with no fishy taste at all. The salad was good, and had the rightamount of dressing. Read more

Step back in time for a restaurant experience that keeps the spirit of yesteryear alive. Featuring well executed traditional... American fare that you won't find at the trend-chasing (often corporate) restaurants or the modern era, the Steak Loft is acomfortable, calm and enjoyable place to share a meal with loved ones. The stuffed shrimp were wonderful and made my grandmotherso happy to see them on a menu (she's been looking for a place that still serves them for years!). The service was kind, thefood delicious and the overall experience wonderful. Is it a swanky new place redefining your favorite cuisine? Not at all! Butif you lean in to the old-world charm, character and coziness of a bygone era, you may find this place to be as terrific as wedid. Read more

I must be honest, it is very expensive for what they offer, like everything in life with its good and bad things, the seafood... soup was delicious, the ribeye that I ordered was well cooked but the plating was nothing to be desired, the children's menuquite limited and the pizza super greasy, the atmosphere quite for third generation adults, the beer excellent. Visited for the first time on Valentine?s day last night and we were so glad we chose to try this place! So much food and our... meals were great. We had the stuffed shrimp and the steak with sides of French onion soup and salad. I was so surprised at howgood the house salad was! Our server Kate was so friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back! Read more

Giving this restaurant a three instead of a five really pains me as, growing up, it was my favorite place to eat. Unfortunately,... our last trip there wasn't up to where their usual standards used to be. This review is from Spring of '21. My main issue waswith the staff and some confusing communication. I called to order takeout and explained that I had the promotional offer listedon their website. The women who took my order noted that and said to just bring the coupon on went I went to pick it up and theywould take it off the bill. When I went in to pick up the food and pay, I was told by the server and her supervisor that I couldnot use it on takeout. I showed her the coupon, which did not have any language whatsoever about only being for dine-in/days ofthe week/any type of restrictions, and I also mentioned that the person on the phone said it would be fine. They "compromised"and offered a lower percentage off, which I appreciate, but I was still left frustrated with the lack of communication. Iunderstand the issues with staffing and prices due to Covid, but perhaps remove any offers if you're just going to say you areunable to honor them. Speaking about the food, I ordered the steak, and it was still as good as I remember. Juicy and fully offlavor and the baked potato was delicious. My mom ordered the broiled seafood melody and said the lobster sauce should have comein a bucket because it was so good but that the seafood was just okay. I do think that that's a meal that is most likely not asgood for takeout as it would be if we ordered dine-in. This was before the salad bar had come back and we realized that thesalad bar has really been carrying the experience for us over the past 20+ years. I'd go back with the salad bar to give themanother chance just since I have had so many great meals here, but I'm not totally optimistic that it will be as good as it oncewas. Read more
