Take out order of Southern Salad which was pretty good (except for the rotting lettuce included - see 3rd photo). I omitted... croutons and would have liked the option to have either walnuts or pecans added. I did enjoy the chicken salad which is madewith grapes. Service was good and with a smile. I ate an early snack/lunch at Newk's, while waiting to be picked up after seeing U.S. Dermatology Associates. The pimento mac... and cheese with bacon was outstanding! As always, I loved the red velvet cake. The large, well-lit parking lot has been sweptbut needs pressure washing. The restaurant is clean, as are the bathrooms. Service was fast and efficient. And the award for slowest place in Nacogdoches has been awarded to Newks, by me... 25 minutes for 1 mac and cheese! This... establishment is severely overpriced and the portions are not comparable to the price. The staff was polite but the service wasso very painfully slow, and they weren't even very busy and I could see quite a few employees. Gumbo wasn't great but thepimento cheese was. Doesn't make up for the slowness though. If you plan to go here, don't be too hungry when you get here andbring plenty of money. ???? Read more

Newk?s is located on North St. with more than necessary parking. Besides fresh, tasty, and favorable food the restaurant is very... clean. The staff without exception is helpful and friendly. Social distancing is maintain in the seating. During this visit itwas observed that the customers are wearing masks. The Chicken and Bacon sandwich prepared on very enjoyable bread that is sosimilar to French Bread was most delicious. Ingredients used are definitely fresh. Decent size that was served with a smallpasta salad. Lunch partner had a large very and nice salad. Drinks are obtained by the customer and at the present time refillsare not allowed. The cups used for the drinks are a nice size however. The experience today along with enjoyable food makesthis place one to enjoy for a decent meal in a very clean environment. Read more

Ordered the wild mushroom soup and basically got campbells cream of mushroom for $9. The place was supremely noisy at nearly 2... on a Sunday since the entire restaurant is one big room. Made it very hard to have conversation. The staff were kind and myfriend's Italian sandwich wasn't bad. Read more
