I order from here almost once a week, it's ALWAYS good, theyre amazing at customizing orders, and the quality is huge bang for your buck! Everything always arrives fresh, hot, and incredibly well presented. For a quick and easy lunch their bento boxes are awesome, and for a big spread to share with the family you can't go wrong!
Half of the items in veggie Bento box include meat. I can only eat a fraction of this meal. Please update your online menu so we can see what is included, as this is the first veggie Bento box I've ever received that includes meat. At least what I could eat is tasty, and the miso soup is quite good.
I ordered ordered tempura yam, smoked salmon nigiri, spicy tuna rolls and spicy salmon rolls. All were! excellent!! Waited 20min for delicious and fresh tasting sushi! Coming from Edmonton I have been craving good sushi for a long time and this definitely satisfied my tastebuds! Pleasant service! (Side note: I'm used to East Coast spicy Salmon/tuna rolls plain with the spicy mayo sauce drizzled on top- these spicy rolls were spicy interior (no spicy mayo) but equally delicious!
Had take out last night and it was very good. Their California rolls had REAL crab NO imitation stuff, we also had the shrimp and avocado rolls, salmon sashimi and nigiri were all exceptional. The rest of the group had the spicey pork and chicken donburri bowls and said they were awesome!!!
Simple but always exceptionally delicious, it's nice that they don't try to impress you with fancy looking rolls but instead give you quality. Their rice is always cooked perfectly and their ingredients taste really fresh. The price is right too. Probably my favourite sushi place in town.
The prices are more expensive than a lot of places in town. The tofu was inedibleit was slimy and had some weird coating on it. And I've eaten a lot of tofu and loved it. Something was a little off with the rice as well. there's just so many better sushi places in town Bistro taiyo, sushi waa, umi is my top. All those places have better quality food and better prices
I haven't been here for YEARs and decided to grab some sushi while my partner was in class at VIU. I was pleasantly surprised that they had quite a few more options than just sushi. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen with spicy pork. The broth was great, the eggs were a bit overcooked. I'm giving the restaurant 4/5 because I asked for taiyaki with my order and got takoyaki instead. Not a big deal because I like both, thankfully ? I'd go back for the taiyaki alone ?
Whether you are dining in or getting it to go, this place has awesome sushi for less than a cup of coffee. I usually stop in a few days a week for some California rolls, it never costs more than four dollars. Good food at a great price. The inside is clean and up to date if you do choose to dine in. The staff is very friendly and courteous. You can tell they have a passion for what they do. No offence to the 16 year burger flippers, we've all been there. I saw one review about the sushi being "typical" and that's exactly right. I see nothing wrong with this. This is not a place for a fancy night out, rather an economical choice for sushi lovers on the go.
