Mexican cuisine is a expertise of mine. I tried many Mexican restaurants mostly from my time in Calgary. After moving to Nanaimo... I looked into the local Mexican food scene. Only this place and Jalapeños Mexican Food nearby looked authentic and promising tome. Today, I tried Baby Salsa and we went all out. We ordered soup, tacos, burritos, mains and desserts. The final bill cameout to be $183 for 4 people. The highlights would be tacos, but we wish there were a bit more variety available. The soup,burritos and main were okay too. Desserts the best was the flan, rice pudding is good and the churros were not good. Churroswere too dense and not fluffy and light. Overall the food was alright for Nanaimo standards. The service was friendly andgreat. The restaurant ambience was nice. Great space for sitting down and the washroom was clean. Good location with parking anda major bus stop outside. Overall it's a good option for authentic Mexican food on the Island. Read more

In all honesty we ended up here by pure destiny. We went to Jalapeño Fiesta and it was closed and Baby Salsa was open and close... by. My yummyness, I'm glad we ended up here. The food was full of party in your mouth, tickling your tonsils and flavourfulexplosions. We had 7 different type of tacos and a Piña Colada. Everything was Very delicious. The free appy they give you isalso scrumptious which consists of thin baked tortilla chips with the homemade salsa ???? Our server was great and theatmosphere with the salsa playing in the background is perfect. I most definitely recommend this place. Read more

The food is nice, the drinks are great, the patio is chill; buuuut, the service isn?t very friendly, and the food is slow. Some... items on the menu might be authentic Mexican. Must be a popular place for take out due to the endless stream of drivers pickingup orders. Read more

Lovely little spot. Has a nice patio area which was dog friendly. I got a couple of tacos and jalapeno poppers. All were fresh... and delicious! Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Great place for some good Mexican food in Nanaimo! Read more

Love the food there! Got free chips and salsa as a starter, tacos are gluten-free and you can get a side of rice & beans (it's a... lot). They also have a few vegetarian and vegan options. Margaritas are tasty too and the horchata is devine! Would go backthere in a heartbeat!! ??
