Food came quickly and tasted okay. Friendly service and dogs are welcome. Drinks and food are expensive though.
Decided to stop at Penny's Palapas for dinner in Nanaimo. The servers were great and there was very little wait to get in. Very... impressed with the red snapper fish tacos with chipotle mayo with side of corn, beans, and rice! Very fresh and tasted like theones I've had in Maui! I'd recommend anyone to give these a try. Took a friend for her birthday! She loves taco especially fish and she said they where delicious. There was three of us so we... each ordered a different taco and shared. We all agreed the snapper tacos where the best. With the pork next (save your saladto put in it as it doesn?t have any greens with it) and then the shrimp (which where good but not as good flavour as theothers). The only thing I would like to see is glasses that are not plastic if you are ordering a non alcoholic drink. Toramp up the taco etc? it would be excellent if they made there own tacos. We sat inside (which is cozy with sails draped acrossthe ceiling and hanging lights) but you will need a reservation to sit inside especially on a Monday as a lot of therestaurant are closed. You can sit outside with your dog. To end the meal we had the chocolate torte and it was one of thebest desserts I have had. The staff where excellent. Read more
Best nachos ever! My son and I took my wife there for her birthday. We ordered the nachos with the achiote pork. The 3 of us... couldn't finish it. Delish! I had the ceviche as well. The ceviche wasn't my favorite but still good. I've eaten here beforeand they also have great tacos. And you can't beat the atmosphere! Read more

Unique & wonderful experience on a floating restaurant in the harbour. Excellent quality food, and friendly prompt service... here. Chicken Quesadillas and Halibut Tacos were our order, along with Margaritas of course !! Read more
The food was very good, although I couldn't try the tortilla soup because it arrived a little late. the service was excellent.
Great margaritas as mentioned in other reviews. The food was mediocre to be honest. The location is interesting and coming in by... boat is fun. We were here in July and the service didn?t match the volume of people. It?s tough to find help so that can be partof it. I would go again to give the food another chance and sit in a different location. Could be higher stars if the foodimproves. A big group of local, younger adults said they love it so it?s worth another visit and then an updated review. Read more
