For some reason when I get a drink here it tastes a little better than when I get it at different starbucks locations in town...... not sure why. The staff is also super quick and efficient. Very busy at certain times, but still convenient as it is on campus.It is very small and it would be nice to have a more comfortable place to sit with friends or at least stand when waiting fordrink to be made. Really a great Starbucks location, easily accessible to all the students of Vancouver Island University. The service is quick... and the staff are friendly. My only compliant, and the reason for giving 4 stars, is that there is not too much space inside theStarbucks, so it is usually mostly taken up by waiting customers. As a student though, this does not matter too much as you canpick up your order and go find a seat in the library. Read more
I was a student at VIU and am still a member of the VIU community. In response to one of the reviews below, the campus Starbucks... does not carry decaf brewed coffee. It doesn?t sell well and is also available ten steps away in the campus cafeteria. You saidyou came mid-day, which is when the espresso machines have to go through a cleaning cycle. For this short period of time thereis no decaf espresso available in the cafe. Your cashier doesn?t control this. I also find it disturbing you decided to discussthis staff member?s age and race and post a photo to the Internet of her without consent. I suggest you reconsider what it meansto be part of an inclusive campus community, and a kind human being. Read more
This Starbucks is very busy from 1:00 to 2:00 on Wednesday (November 6?2019). Sometimes it takes half an hour to line up for a... cup of coffee. Unfortunately, after I was in line for half an hour later, an old (about 50 years old over, the people look likefrom Middle East) staff told us there was no decaffeinated coffee in the shop. I'm curious. Do all Starbucks have no DECAFE. Oronly this shop haven't. Or we can't order a cup of DECAFE only on this stuff? I can accept a super long line and wait for 30minutes. But I cannot accept that reject customers for personal reasons. This is not the first time that happened on this oldwoman. Last time, I was on the line. A lady order a cup of caramel apple spice, the old stuff said, we have no caramel applespice. But when the next person orders the same one. She said yes! Read more
The staff at this location in particular are extremely courteous and polite. To phrase it with emphasis on the only way I really... can in text, I am not the type of person to EVER spend my time to actually look up a particular establishment to give them aperfect, 5-Star rating...and if I've ever given a rating for anything ever, I can assure you that I've only given 4-Star ratingat best. The Starbucks in University Village (located close to the intersection of Bruce Ave and 5th St in Harewood) has in myhumble opinion deserved each of the stars in my first ever 5-Star review. Usually a wait due to it being attached to the university library and everyone knows Uni students need coffee to function. Kept... clean though and the staff are very friendly. Read more
Came in and kicked out the old shop, then cut the hours. Closing at 7:30 when classes go until 9 is terrible. Lines are super... long and move slowly, and I've had my order made wrong, which is unacceptable, given how much Starbucks makes you repeat andconfirm what you want. Read more
This store is great! The baristas work so hard to get through the busy line at all times! I have never had a bad experience here... and I come all the time! They really make you feel welcome and the drinks are always the best! Read more
