What a neat off the beaten path stop on Lake Erie. It was a hot day and the place was hopping. Service was great and the food... was good and very filling. Taps were cold which is just how I like them! We had the Philly Cheesesteak, Pickerel and Perch. Nocomplaints at all! Read more
My husband and I were really excited to try this place. We were told to sit wherever, so we sat up on the patio. It was busy but... not overly. We waited 25 mins to get a waitress. We ordered drinks and got the menu at the same time as we were brought ourdrinks.. 10-16 minutes later. We ordered with her the same time we got the menus to avoid a wait. I don't even know why wedidn't walk out- because our 4 appetizers came an hour later. No apologies for the wait. Went there last night for the first time. The waitress? were ignoring us while we stood there waiting to be seated. After 5 min... of them ignoring us we had asked if there was an open table. She respond ? yes pick any table you want?. So we found a tableoutside on the patio. We sat there and waited and waited to be order a drink. 25min later we were able to order drinks and ourmeal. Very poor service with no explanation for the almost 2 hour wait for our food, server very short with us for asking when we... might be getting our order (this after waiting 1 1/2 hr.). Table beside us came in after us (both tables of 6), received theirfood and left while we were just getting our food. After hearing lots of negative comments about Hoover?s, management should betrying to improve their business. We won?t be returning. Used to be a great place to boat to and enjoy the ambiance. Great quiet view after being Port Dover. We decide to come here instead of eating there. I?m glad we did. Service was good.... Covid friendly. Nice patio. The food was excellent. A little pricey but portion size was excellent. Nice cold beer! The onlyreason not perfect score was waitress gave us our food and we had to look for her to pay. Read more
Went there for breakfast. There was no children's breakfast menu. So we paid for another full adult meal for a four year old. I... asked for scrambled eggs and basically got a plain omelette instead. The "home fries" were tater tots that had a strong oniontaste to them. The waitress didn't know how to strap the booster seat onto the chair. The table was sticky and there were tonsof flies.
