So much to choose from. I had the Elote with extra cheese and spice. It was delicious!

This is one of our regular stops for great ice cream! Lots of flavors and top quality ice cream.

Ever since I first tried the elotes in a cup here I fell in love especially because they still prepared them the old fashioned... way by cutting it fresh of the cob. Recently though, I was disappointed to find out they switched their method to the lazy wayby serving the corn that's sitting in water all day. When I first tried their original elotes I would drive about 30 min justfor these and yesterday I drove for nothing. When I saw they had the corn sitting in the water I specifically requested to getthe corn freshly cut from the cob b/c I hate how the loose corn has too much water in the cup and takes the flavor away and it'sjust disgusting. The young girl helping me out said it was okay and proceeded to make it. Then another older lady told her notto and came to tell me that it takes too much time. When I explained why I didn't want it like that she insisted she would makesure to not put too much water and to strain it really good. I decided okay whatever as long as there's not too much water. Thewhole time they were both very nice and polite about it which I do appreciate but when I got my elote I realized it had abouthalf the cup of water full so I went and requested a corn on the cob instead after I showed the older lady how much water ithad. She gave it to me without further conversation and the whole time just made me think all the time and money lost there whenthey could have just cut it fresh from the cob. They were nice but if they wanted to go above and beyond for their customer theycould have and they didn't because they would have "lost time" which they did anyways and money b/c they gave me another corn.Never coming here again b/c it's not worth it. I went to this shop with my friend and I live in Evanston at that time and we have a La machoicana near my home who have chamoy... ice cream in the mangonada. While here I noticed they were putting only chamoy syrup and I asked don?t you have chamoy icecream. Immediately a pregnant lady emerged from the back and identified as herself as the owner and immediately stated we are aindependent shop and we don?t care what they serve at the other shops we have nothing to do with it. I immediately said okay andstayed quiet. But the lady jsut kept talking and talking and talking and kept the conversation in a rude tone and kept?explaining? unnecessarily how they have nothing to do with other shops and they give them a bad name. Me and my friend decidedto stay absolutely quiet primarily because we are born very educated medical doctors And she had a very big mouth and she waspregnant so we decided to give her a pass. When it was time to pay the bill she again emerged from the back room and again goingat it again. With out any provocation or word being said by us. When she noticed our lack of response and refusal to answer sheimmediately told the staff to just not charge us and take the ice cream away. At this point we both are very puzzled as towhat?s wrong with her. I have given 1000 percent accurate description of the event yes!!! It was that weird and uncomfortable.Lady I don?t care if you are pregnant or you are looking to ?vent out? this is not how you speak to customers with out anyprovocation. The only reason I am gonna rate this Ice cream parlor with 3stars is? everything but the flavor! This was the very first time I... came to this store & I must say the store?s ambiance is rather inviting. Lots of colors all around the walls, lots of fruits, &flavors on the side which makes you wanna order everything they offer. Despite an extensive menu, efficient service, coolenvironment what didn't ring the bell for me was a simple chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone. Although the cone was fresh,the chocolate ice cream has no strong chocolate flavors?I didn't find it chocolatey at all & it was less sweet. ???? They haveindoor seating & outdoor seats too! This was my first visit to a Mexican ice cream parlor. There are so many new things to try that I was a little overwhelmed. The... young lady behind the counter (one of the owners) graciously steered me to some ice cream flavors I had never tried (horchataand flan with chocolate cake). Both were a great choice and blended well together. Very creamy and full of flavor - notsynthetic like something from a chain. So much to try will go back - really want to try the mango cups next.
