Our first visit to Up North Ale House was a pleasant surprise. Living in Naperville.for the last 10 years I had never heard of... it, but glad I discovered it. There was something on the menu for everyone in my family and the food was delicious. Prices werevery reasonable! The salmon was fresh and cooked perfectly. I had grilled wings and they were great! Went in for my birthday. Great experience. Nice comfortable vibe and atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious. The drinks... were good. The waitress was fantastic as well and gave me a complimentary shot for my birthday. Would definitely return. Read more
Order: Shrimp Po-Boy Cost: 13.99 Recommendation: Stay away...far away Everything was taste-less and the fries sub for Garlic... Parm resulted in a cup of garlic oil on the side...no cheese to be found. BARELY had a sprinkle of salt & pepper on them. Theshrimp are NOT jumbo. I got 3 pieces that were over cooked and soggy, assumedly because they were fried and then tossed in thewet buffalo sauce - paired with coleslaw desperately needing mayo and flavor... with wet tomato, and a few thinly sliced onionpieces...this is a textural nightmare. This is Naperville people. Oprah has a house but a few blocks away. If you are going tocompete with other local power-houses like Empire Burgers and Brew, this menu item needs a serious reboot and compositionupgrade. I guess you get what you pay for. Read more
Went on Father's Day for a party of 5 and service was somewhat lacking. There didn't seem to be anyone around that was in... charge - no floor manager if you will. Our waitress did the best she could even though I had to get a drink refill at the baron my own. Food was decent as you can see by the pretzel. Please be advised, this restaurant does not take American Express. I have yet to come across a restaurant that does not take AMEX. For that reason, I won't be back. Good to try once, if youlimit what credit card I can use, you won't get my repeat business. Read more
My friend and I found this place after going from place to place in downtown Naperville and being met with excessive wait times.... (It was a Saturday, I get that- but we're moms of little kids and we don't get out much on weekend nights.) We found this placecloseish by and we're happy we did. The food was great, the fries in particular were perfect, as was the cranberry lemonade wegot. The staff was attentive. I will definitely be back. Read more
