The food was good, but if your child is picky and eats only pasta, go somewhere else. The portion size compared to the price was... obnoxious. I’m Writing this to warn people about this owner who’s clearly in denial. If you scroll far enough past his spam alternate... accounts he’s made to make his restaurant look good you can see all the true, honest reviews about ricks this year with thenew owner and system. after switching owners in 2022 this place has gone drastically downhill with what the owner likes to call“the much needed improvements.” Let me start off by mentioning the new billing system which requires you to have a phone inorder to eat here. Everything is online so there is no such thing as a waiter or waitress. They’ve become technicians forpeople who aren’t new to the system. And with this system they automatically add 20% to the bill so you don’t “have totip” so if you ordered 100$ worth of food they automatically add an extra 20$. But even then your asked if you want to tip.The second thing I’ll mention is the quality of food. Let’s just say it’s no longer as good as it use to be. The Thirdthing I’ll add is the excessive amount of excuses he’s made for why food might’ve not been as good. One of the commentssomeone mentions food being cold, (which is fine it’s happens if it’s stays on the counter too long) but there really was noapology from the owner and his response to the comment was “sometimes the breeze from the lake comes into the kitchen which isway food gets cold quicker.) and with all that being said my final message for anyone checking to see if this place is good,just don’t come here. Although it took a minute to figure out the system for ordering we were very happy. Staff was very personable and helpful and... attentive. The food was delicious with large portions and decent cocktails. Everything was so quick. We didn’t have to waitfor anything and as the night went on getting refills on drinks was easy. I recommend going if you have not been since the newowners took over . It was a great night and we will be back. Read more
Cut your loses and eat at Freedom Cafe. Ricks is just a tourist destination. We usually eat here every summer. NEVER AGAIN. So... much more expensive, a mimosa and a Budweiser was $25. There is a new online system in place too for ordering literallyeverything. Everything is on an iPad so it’s very difficult to navigate I found. I miss the physical menu. It is very hard totry and have a sit down meal but be on your phone almost the whole time trying to order food, drink, refills etc. Also, I lovethat they are taking care of their wait staff, but it does feel very bazaar walking in and seeing a ton of waitstaff sittingaround but you have to do all the ordering yourself. I would like to mention that the women who was helping us was VERY sweet. Isee that the owner(s) are sounding off to other reviewers saying that Ricks is “no longer for them” or being very passiveaggressive which is also disheartening because a lot of those people have probably been coming to this restaurant for many manyyear. Best lobster roll and fries in town! And the bartenders are very attentive and made me a well-balanced spicy margarita that was... outstanding! This place has definitely improved a lot with the new ownership. Healthy options as well, and great craft cocktailmenu. Highly recommend!! Read more
Great view of the water, we had wings, bao buns, mozzarella sticks, chicken sandwiches, fish and chips and the blackened fish... tacos. All were good, tacos lacked a tiny bit of flavor but all others were great. Drinks were good too! Read more
Ordered takeout using the app. Very easy food was on point. Very quick Very friendly. Had the lobster roll and fries.. coleslaw... was delicious. Also ordered fried clams perfectly cooked and the 20% tip to these hard working young people, wasn't enough.. Iadded extra .. Definitely be back. Thank you for a great experience Read more
