Was told the buffet ended in 5 minutes so we passed on it. Then they converted it to the lunch buffet but didn't tell us that... prior. Why not mention that and let us grab from the breakfast buffet before it flips and the lunch after since we came at theswitch over? Just charge us for the more expensive lunch one, and it's fine. So we got the all you can eat breakfast. The ideahere seems to be to make you wait so long between orders of food that you don't take full advantage and eat as much as you wouldif they came to check on you at regular intervals. Then, we had a card charge included on our bill despite the fact that wewere paying in cash. The pancakes are good here. The grits are dreadful. The rest of the food was o.k. All in all, pretty goodfood, but not happy with the service/organization of the place. I'm sure locals would have know how it works, but we were fromout of town and got no help when we could have used it. Read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch. While the waitress was nice the food was greasy. We got breaded cod filet sandwiches with curly... fries. The cod was straight from a bag or box with a little bit of minced fish inside. The fries were soft and greasy.Unfortunately?not recommending. Read more
Bonnie cafe has consistently good food and service. And it's inexpensive. It ain't a fancy steak place, but if you go in... knowing it's typical small town Midwest short order, you won't be disappointed. Read more

A slice of Southern Illinois. Bonnie's Cafe was a delightful experience. The buffet has a variety of sides, meats, and desserts.... I got the bacon burger with cheese.
