I normally am not one to write reviews but The Chef and I has been a favorite for years. My boyfriend and I would fly in from... out of town to dine here. This was in 2019 when the food was PHENOMENAL. Since 2019 we have been to the restaurant at least 5times both at the old and new location… hoping the food quality and uniqueness of the dishes would be available once again. Tomy disappointment and dissatisfaction the dishes were much lower quality, and made quickly with terrible flavor combinations.Tonight, I got a homemade pasta dish with pesto, goat cheese, and sausage. This dish was flavorless, the meat was burnt, andthere was very minimal pesto on the dish too. My boyfriends dish was with shrimp and bread. The bread was burnt and sitting inoil and broth that had awful flavor. The menu is also significantly shorter at the new location with limited options compared tothe old location. I was extremely disappointed with my experience… I really loved all of the old chefs that used to make thewhole dining in an experience. They were phenomenal cooks and great company… The new location couldn’t be further from theold 2019 vibe of the Chef and I. All new staff, cooks, menu, and drinks have all changed. I gave this place one last shot andunfortunately was extremely disappointed once again. I won’t ever eat here again. Don’t waste your time or money. Read more

Went here for an upscale experience as a TN visitor and got the 5 course tasting. Beware- these are truly samples. Like when the... food is almost ready and you take a bite for yourself to see if it’s good. VERY SMALL. We ordered this and knew immediatelythat we would need food after. We knew we were tasting food but for the amount we paid, there should have been more food orsomething should have been added as complimentary to show us the value of what we ordered. The pic I posted is a 3rd of theportion they gave. The TASTE of the food was great. The night we came, we got to enjoy 2 types of fish, pork belly, duck, andcheese with the tiniest bacon strips I ever saw to compliment it. Also- the “chef” experience is more like videosurveillance of the chefs blasted on a wall in the middle of the restaurant. Overall- food was tasty, there was a small amountof it, and it was quite expensive. Get that pocketbook ready and eat before you arrive if you plan to sample foods. ???? Read more

Amazing experience. Super friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and great food. We had some really tasty appetizers and then a couple... of our group did the chef’s tasting which did not disappoint. It had quail, cheeses, ahi tuna, lobster, and so much more.Other people in the group got the steak and salt pork, which they both really liked. Drinks and wine were also both reallygreat. I highly recommend! Read more

We had a fantastic meal here on Sunday for brunch! It was one of the two best meals we’ve had in Nashville. Great experience... being able to watch the kitchen work too. Very fun. Read more

Fantastic food and amazing energy! Chef Sarah and her team are awesome! You can tell they enjoy doing what they do, and are... happy being here. That translates into a joy that goes beyond just enjoying great food. Had the five-course tasting menu andeverything was superb. They accommodated our dietary needs and made us feel welcome and special. Highly recommend it! Read more

Was a great dinner for my wife's birthday. We had the 5 tasting menu and I had a few cocktails while my wife had the wine... pairings. Everything was amazing. My favorite course was the pork belly, and my wife loved the elk. I recommend the Me and BobbyMcGee to drink. For dessert I had the deconstructed cheese cake (pictured) and my wife had the coffee and donut ice cream. Bothwere delectable. The wait staff and chefs were all great and fun to talk with. It was a cool vibe being able to sit at the baracross from the chefs and watch them make our food. Overall a great experience and will definitely be back. Read more

My wife and I came here a few months back for her birthday dinner. Atmosphere was A+ I loved being able to sit at the bar top... and watch the staff do what they love. Truly awesome experience. And if you do it right, it’s not expensive for the quality offood you’re getting. My wife and I both got drinks and a plenty of delicious food for around $80. Definitely left happy, full, and with a cool new experience under our belts. Highly Recommend Read more

My wife and I loved our dinner at Chef and I. It was a wonderful experience. The food is delicious. The restaurant is very... pleasant. We got to sit in front of the chef and cooking staff. We got to meet the General Manager (Melissa), a cook (Sam) andthe kitchen manager (Marcella). They are such wonderful people and culinary experts. Listen up - Chef and I is clearly one ofNashville’s must go restaurant. Make your reservations well in advance. Go enjoy a great culinary experience. Read more
