So glad I stumbled upon this little gem of a place. Not fancy, serves beer in jars, and has some killer brisket and pulled pork.... This is a great place for work happy hour. Super casual, good food, cool vibe. Read more

Been coming here for almost a decade and couldn't be more glad to have this place in the neighborhood. Okay amount of seating... both inside and out, decent staff who are pretty quick and attentive, and delicious swachos (including a vegetarian option). Idig the mason-jar-for-draft vibe too. Note for the sensitive: smoking is permitted on the front patio. Read more

Cool venue and selection of beers but they add gratuity automatically to your check and don't tell you they've done that. When... asking the bar tenders about that they pretty much made it clear they expect you to tip on top of the about with the gratuityautomatically included. Read more

The blonde bartender with the bangs is the rudest bar/restaurant worker I have ever met. Will never return to this establishment... and advise everyone else to do the same. Read more

American Ice was rightfully popular on Saturday night. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. The prices are... reasonable and the drink service was prompt. As a wine enthusiast, I would have preferred to have more options to choose from. The industrial decor and open concept enhance the atmosphere and overall experience at the bar. Read more

Great spot for beers and grub. Got the swachos and they were very tasty, but can't say the same for the chili (it was just... chili). Vibe, beer selection, comfort and friendliness of staff all good and I would definitely come back. It's nice that it's alittle of the beaten path of U Street, too, which may mean it's less crowded than some of the regular haunts on that strip. Allin all, a recommended watering hole for when you're thirsty. Read more
