Great pupusa place - three for $10ish which is quite a lot of food for not that much! Fried plantains are sweet and come with... tasty refried beans and cream. Really sweet service but sitting outside you order on a QR code Read more

It's been said,, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." If this statement showed up in the... form of people it would be Catherine and Sonja, two of the most hospitable employees at El Tamarindo. I'm like many people: Ienjoy good food from all walks of life, but I'll be honest when it comes to Elsalvadorian dining I'm not quick to just go anywhere because far too often the employees recognize that I do not speak Spanish nor do I look like them, thus the way they tryto treat me is less than welcoming. But here, here EVERYBODY is somebody and the food is EXCEPTIONAL just like the service. It's no wonder they won a "2021 DC Best" award. So go ahead and check them out. Please tell Catherine and Sonja I send my loveand that I sent you. They'll take real good care of you. Read more

We had Mother's day brunch during DC Vegetarian week and IN LOVE with the food and drinks. Outdoor sitting in their parking lot... with the heaters on was a bonus. From Vegetarian to chicken dish everything was perfect! Look forward to dining soon. Read more

Favorite spot in DC for pupusas! I tried their vegan menu for DC Veg Restaurant Week and was surprised at the creative options... for vegans! I had vegan pupusas with cashew cheese, Palm of hearts ceviche and jackfruit empanadas, I hope they keep these ontheir everyday menu soon! The staff was also very nice and welcoming, it was my first time going in vs ordering out thrudelivery and loved their space, it's beautiful! Read more

Best pupusas I’ve ever had and still are. I frequented El Tamarindo probably the most out of any other restaurant while living... in DC. Amazing pupusas and a very nice setting. Read more

Pupusas were great but the fajita that I ordered was not. I ordered the Tex fajita which bring shrimp, chicken and beef. When I... got my fajita, it only brought 2 pieces of steak, 2 shrimps and 2 pieces of chicken. For $19.50, I would expect more or at leasta fresh plate. The food seemed to be microwaved and had sauce thrown all over it to make it seem fresh. Read more

I had the worst experience tonight with El Tamarindo. I placed an order at 7:13 and the delivery driver arrived to pick up the... order at 7:35, he waited for 45 minutes and finally was able to get the food at 8:25. When the food arrived it was cold. Thecheese enchiladas were so cold like the order had been truly sitting around for an hour. I’m waiting on a refund to be issuedfor this order. I would not advise ordering for delivery. Attaching photos of the huge block of cold cheese. It’s a foodsafety issue for sure. Not to mention the containers were soaking wet from condensation from the food sitting around for anhour. Bad experience with them overall. The issue was not with Postmates but with the restaurant directly. Just awful all aroundwith $50 wasted. Read more
