The food was delicious! Caught them before the rush, so we got served quickly. Friendly atmosphere , will definitely be back!!!
1st time visit & probably last... I was looking forward to having breakfast at "The World Famous Florida Grill"... As I... entered, 1) there was no one to address 2) the service was sub-par...Not friendly at all.. 3) The food was not as Iordered... Eggs with cheese was hard scrambled with a slice if cheese on top. My pancakes were not hot & was served with nobutter 4) The waitress never "gave" my check but insisted that I walk on the other side of the restaurant to pay my bill...Bythe way, I never got my itemized bill but she definitely took my credit card without even apologizing... 5) I left therefeeling really disappointed & a bit unfulfilled. As soon as I walked in the servers were rude. I?m visiting from out of town and did not appreciate the way I was spoken to or... being ignored by one of the servers. I understand it is busy but that is not en excuse for rudeness especially when I?m supposeto be spending my money there. Didn?t even want to eat there anymore. Completely turned off. Read more

A beautiful and delicious meal to satisfy a soul food craving. I was a bit shocked when the prices at the grill were way higher... than the online menu, but once I got past the shock of being told my total was more than a few dollars higher than I expectedand saw the food/thought about supporting a local institution I didn?t really mind. I would argue this is the best breakfast restaurant in DC. Homey, delicious food. Other restaurants with high ratings may be... larger and fancier, but this no frills diner style restaurant serves fantastic food at a great price. Can?t go wrong cominghere. Each meal was $11.95 (two meals in the attached photos). EDIT: We came back a second time to enjoy the wonderfulbreakfast (served all day) the last day of the trip. I have lived in DC since 1980 and this was my first visit to the infamous Florida Avenue Grill. The young lady taking orders was... very attentive to our party. Our breakfast was very good. Everything was very tasty. It was a little chilly that day. The stoolscan use an update. If you can't eat in, they are very good with takeout services. Looking forward to returning. Read more
