My family and I traveled from Atlanta and while walking around DC we came across this gem. Our server was Joanna and she was... great at taking care of us and made us feel comfortable! Had knowledge on any questions we had, which was a plus! We were beyondpleased with the food, drinks, desserts and the pleasant atmosphere!!! Definitely went above and beyond our expectations, withgreat authentic Mexican dishes. We couldn’t have been happier, we look forward to coming back in the future! Greatlyrecommend!!! It’s a must try. Read more

Had an awesome authentic Mexican food experience here at Oyamel! Loved the decor and minimal wait for a table! The food here is... excellent! They provide unlimited chips also salsa which were very tasty and have really nice glasses for water andbeverages. The food was really delicious and reasonably priced. You can do small plates or family style. We tried many of theoptions all really tasty and filling. Our waitress was very nice and really helpful with ordering. The watermelon mojito thatwas recommended was insanely cool and delicious! Overall great experience and perfect food option when you are in DC. Read more

Oyamel is a solid Mexican restaurant. Great service and unique ways of serving certain food - such as eating guac in a homemade... tortilla! We got the tasting menu because we couldn’t decide what to get. We got such a variety of different food that it wastruly a tasting menu. The only thing that we didn’t like was that the tasting menus were individually portioned, but rather2-3 people would have to share a plate. We got two pitchers of margaritas and that was a solid drink. Be sure to book this inadvance as it can get quite busy during dinner time! Read more

Definitely worth a visit. We had a great evening here. The server was kind and friendly. The food was amazing. They bring you... warm chips and salsa, which are great. We tried two different margaritas. The Serrano Margarita was a spicy delicious kick inthe face :) The Al Gusto was good as well. All 3 tacos were excellent. Really well done. And the place feels reasonably priced. The decor is super eclectic and fun as well, butterflies everywhere. We would highly recommend this place. Read more

The place was busy but we were able to get a table. They warned us that the food portions are small so we ordered a few things.... It was good to get a taste of multiple dishes. We also ate quite a few chips with the spicy homemade salsa. Our wait staff wasvery attentive and the food was very good. Read more

The service here is quick and friendly staff. Our host was excellent and give us some brief explanations and suggestions what to... order. She did not rushed us when we order. Although it was a bit of wait to get a table for 6 person, it was worth the wait.Food were delicious and authentic Mexican. Prices are reasonable. Will come back here for our next DC visit. The food is quite tasty. When we visited, though, the service was a bit uneven. The food seemed to rush out, but our server... would disappear for long stretches. We highly recommend the guacamole. It was yummy, but we ordered it spicy and it came outmild. The chips and salsa were excellent. We also had t cevice and Vera Cruz tuna tacos. Both were great. Read more
