Visiting DC area,my son told me I had to have the ?Rockland Pearl?. Mac n cheese, chopped pork, baked beans, all in a cup. It... was as delicious as it sounds. So damn good, and so good for you. Almost too much for one person! Nice little casual restaurant,not the friendliest folks (no eye contact or even a smile) but I wasn?t here for the conversation. Definitely recommend! Read more

This was my first time trying Rocklands and I was very impressed. I?m more of a Texas-style BBQ guy and this was more Carolina... style but DELICIOUS. I got the chicken and ribs combo for $16.99, and as you can see form the pic attached it was a generousportion that came with two sides. The chicken was moist and the skin was flavorful with some decent char. The ribs were alsogreat and they?re quite large. SO damn good. The order was ready on time, 100% correct, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food is scrumptious.... We got thick and thin brisket, pulled chicken, chopped pork, rolls, cornbread, mac and cheese, collards, coleslaw, baked beans,cucumber salad, and apple pie. Everyone loved everything. Allie and friends rocked our hungry world for under $20/ person. First timer here... I was Hungry. Typed in BBQ "top rated";... sort by distance: Rocklands showed up with 600+ 5* reviews, seemed like a safe bet. Oh myyyy that was an immediate awesomechoice. Will be back, maybe even tomorrow. First moment we walked in it was already an awesome ride with a big smilegreeting. This friendliest guy was not at all thrown off by an immediate question of what was his favorite dish was. He didn'tblink an eye and responded back with his three meat platter and ribs. His partner in crime Allie also had some helpfulrecommendations of the winter stew and collard greens with pulled pork. Each of us was very happy with our own dishes. It was really good to taste different textures and authentic flavors.The meat Was Juicy and had a really good flavor of balanced seasoning and good quality ingredients. The collard greens wereperfectly tender but not overcooked. Very juicy. The stew was very chunky and you could really taste each ingredient without amess of a sauce.
